Found this capper in an old album tucked away in a box in the closet!
I think I'll sell it, What's a good price for this date??

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

<< <i>Did you say capper or crapper? >>
Yes
<< <i>A good price is $5, but I'll double that and give you $10
Don't you think that's kinda way out there?

To much to drink
Note the grinning smiley face...
I've not seen one toned this way, but looks to be a nice EF otherwise and would look good in my 7070, AT or not. You are probably very aware of the value, but $150-$200 is my guess. I've seen toners go for crazy money though.

Thanks, it does have a nice look, but not very good pics......
<< <i>crazyhounddog - It certainly beats the one I found in a box this morning - I'd be elated to find one like yours.
When you find a coin, it's all good.
Just curious.
I like the coin, though!
<< <i>I believe long-term residents of Wayte Raymond retirement facilities often take on that colorful toning, don't they? >>
Not "puddles" of color like the OP's coin. Its more of a target type progression that works from the rims to the center, often times with the center of the coin completely unaffected. This coin has 3 "puddles" of toning in the wide open fields that seem to defy any logical "album toning" progression.

Thanks, I see what you mean.

Looks XF to me, what you should be asking yourself is what Die Marriage is it?
in 1826 there were an estimated 4,004,180 Bust Half Dollars Minted
13 Obverse Dies & 18 Reverse Dies were used to produced 20 different Die Marriages.
5 of the Marriages for 1826 are R4 or R5's which bring well over the price of an XF 1826..............

The coin in the OP doesn't look as blatantly AT to me. True, it doesn't look original, but it looks more like a coin that was dipped and then acquired the secondary toning after some time in the album, rather than something that got "cooked".
<< <i>Here's one that looks similar and came back as artificial tone...
She sure is blue!!
<< <i>Where'd you get that box? Dang! >>
In the closet for about 30 years
