The pages of this thread pile up quickly, so if I missed I apologize, but does anyone know why card #139 is a regular card in the middle of all those Topps magazine rookie star cards? It is not that way in my original 1960 set.

Edited to add: Card #112 is a Topps magazine rookie star card in the middle of regular cards. Both players on card #112 and card #139 have the last names Lewis. It appears that Topps got their Lewis' mixed up, and put them in the wrong places.

Good catch Nick -- I am sure that is what happened! Also, I would like to point out that Clay Buchholz's name is mispelled on the back of his Clubhouse Collection Relic. Not a variation since it was never corrected.

I need the following to finish off some sets:

I thought trading would be slowing down a bit. Man, was I wrong. I got a ton of replies to my last trade list. I made a few quick deals, and I am getting through the rest. I will really monkey this up when I buy another hobby box or two tomorrow.

Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

I've made matters even worse. I was doing some Spring cleaning and found keys I misplaced about two months ago. The keys are for a storage unit I have that contains (among other things) two hobby boxes of Heritage High Numbers. I know I'm ripping and sorting those too.

Very nice Mays, Kevin? Is that the numbered or unnumbered version? I saw an unnumbered Red listed a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't pull the trigger.
  • Options
    joestalinjoestalin Posts: 12,473 ✭✭
It is an unnumbered. I was VERY pleased to not only trade for it, but only have to pull one card out of my personal collection to get it, the rest of the cards
were in my trade stack. I can't believe that it was over 8 years now since I wrapped up the part cash/ part trade on my Mays blue ink on these very
same boards. Craig is still around and still ripping!

Did I mention all the great traders over the years? Now if I can only wrestle that 03 Aaron auto from Lothar, Ill be set!

Could someone please scan the back of one of your AUTOs? Do they have holograms? I'm always afraid I'll miss one when I'm ripping packs. Sometimes they can be hard to catch, especially if it's a blue sig. Thanks!

Don't have one at work to scan but they have letters where the card # would be. That would make it hard to miss if you are looking at the back. They don't do holograms anymore

That's good enough description for me, I was just looking for a way to sift through my stacks without having to examine each card. Thanks!

Best way to catch them is when you are sorting by numbers. I missed a Pedrioa in 08 Update.

I've only opened about 8 retail boxes, so it won't take me long to go through them. I'm not expecting any, just want to make sure.

I found 8 jumbo packs today at a wal-mart. I got a refractor #C7 Ian Kinsler. But the serial number is 0432/1960. instead of 432/560. Anyone find one like this? Just a misprint i guess. Dave.

In my 9 years of collecting topps heritage, I have never seen one. Kinda amazing for a card that was supposed to have a print run of 25!

I couldn't let the day go by without at least one post on this thread. I'm (still) waiting for a refund from the two hobby cases that UPS supposedly "lost", so I'm just watching other people trade and complete their sets. I'm sure I'll finish the set someday soon.

I am so tired of not getting any decent hits (i.e. hall of fame autographs, hall of fame relics, etc.) that I have a case of 2008 High numbers coming. I think there is more value in that. I will post my top three cards from the case once opened without trying to hijack the 2009 thread!
