Who here is "Jack The Dipper"
In no way am I picking on anybody named Jack ![image](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif)
I'm more or less talking about those who dip to get rid of the natural toned surfaces of coins.
Things like acetone,olive oil,etc don't count.
Thanks

That's at least one less buyer for your coin when it comes time to sell.
The crustier the better.

I've removed the "natural toned surfaces" of many, many coins. For example:
Russ, NCNE
Ricko says he like to do the Dippity-Do-Daaa, but have seen him do it.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

some like russ, use it responsibly. others want to clean up the
coin for grading in hopes of a better result. some want to actually
see what the coin is underneath the dirt from a metal detecting find.
others have no clue what they are doing and turn the coin into a POS.
Some are trying to get crap of the coin which damages its surface.
Many many reasons. I just think over the decades the results are patently
obvious. There is a lot of unoriginal coins on the market and they represent the
sheer majority of what is for sale.
i have decided to leave well enough alone and never clean coins.
and they're cold.
