I got a nice slabbed coin in the mail the other day and it had a fancy printed sticker on the back..

........with the dealers name, address, phone number, etc. This was nothing unusual since many dealers follow this practice. I find it irritating and I removed it immediately. At the time, I wondered if most collectors feel this way so I thought I would ask how many of you like to keep these printed dealer stickers on their slab and how many of you remove them?

I've developed my own code for putting on slabs. It's a series of numbers that indicates the month and year I bought the coin, the venue I bought it in, and the price I paid. It comes in very handy.

I photographed one collection that had tags on all the holders, it was kind of cool to see where they all came from.

Just kidding on the stickers...I take them off and use Goo Gone for the residue. Interesting though when you buy a coin from a dealer and it has another dealers sticker on it...
Makes the back of the slab look awful.

If you put a little Googone on the sticker and let it sit for a while, most stickers come off easy with damage to the holograms. A little WD40 will also work. Just don't soak the slab since you don't want any to get inside the slab.

Not in the least since it's informative and a positive addition to the slab.

No, great cataloging technique though. But with the seller's info., wouldn't this be a great way to get around all those buyer's and seller's fees if someone might have a few additional coins for your collection? At least write it down somewhere. It just might come in handy once it dawns on a few of you of the possibilities.
