just received my UHR, ordered date 1/24/09.

not bragging.

Came without a book in a heavy white box.

Any suggestions on how to take advantage of receiving it early? I have not opened the box.

open the box ... submit the coin to PCGS for grading & pay the extra $14 for the "First Strike" label....

Ditto... As I understand it, many of these will not be shipped in time. But I thought you had to leave the coin int he box you rceived it in... though I have been away for awhile, I could be wrong

    Good luck with the flip,
    Ray

    That really sucks!
I ordered 1/22 an hour after the available order time.

It only has to be in the box AFTER the first strike cutoff date has passed. If sent in now (by March 11th I think), it can be opened and looked at first.

Since you have received your UHR, please send your order number and time of order to Ms M so that she can add it to her list. This sucks so bad it's beyond comprehension. What I am afraid of is that those of us who put up with the website fu&*-ups in the first few hours of ordering will not get ours from the first batch of 29,000 minted. We are trapped in a black hole of no return. They won't get to our until they have plowed through all those orders after ours. We know that there have been around 49,000+ orders to date and 29,000 or so minted. With the LIFO method that PBGS is using, it looks like the first 20,000 orders will be SOL and have to wait until April or May or whenever the mint can come up with enough slugs to mint more. This really sucks big-time.

I'm happy for you that you're so independently wealthy that you can afford to be cavalier about how you spend $1200, and when (or whether) you ever receive the merchandise for which it was spent.

Not many of us are so fortunate.

Just a bit of wry humor, nothing cavalier meant. image If 1200 means that much to you maybe you should leave it in the bank or not run up your credit card. We all need to have a little fun with ourselves even in such a serious matter as this. image

    Anyway wail on. image

Keep it sealed, sell it on the bay, take the profits and invest it in some cheap stock. image
  • AWWW MAN, not another. I ordered early so I could be the one rubbing it in. DAMMIT. I can just picture a HUGE pile of boxes, with the early orders at the bottom, and now they have to work thier way through the pile as they were stacked up, mine is way at the bottom I just know it. I already paid for charge, so I have a $1200 credit sitting on the card waiting. DAMMIT
  • mikebombs did you open the box? Another coin pictured on the main thread had edges on the rim that looked terrible. I was wondering if this will be common.

Congrats! I ordered mine 1/22 at 12:36 (30829XXX) with no delivery yet!!! I just don't get how all of these orders which were placed later are shipping before those placed in the first hour.

Good news for you then....until you get it, you haven't spent $1200. image
Once you are charged, you should get it any day then. Until then, you just have a potential $1200 charge sitting over your head.

now, if you just wanted to flip it, then I can understand the anxiety, but not over the $1200.

FINALLY got through to a Mint rep on the phone. She said that since the web site has been down that the phone center has been overloaded. Of course, she has no idea when the site will be fixed.

If you thought that the old reps were clueless, these reps know absolutely NOTHING about the products, nothing!!

I inquired as to why they are NOT shipping the UHRs on a first ordered, first shipped basis. She informed me that none had been shipped yet - good lord. No clue.

I didn't dare take it out of it's plastic holder.
It really looks perfect on both sides, but it will stay
in it's "native" environment as long as I own it.
A pretty incredible coin, I must say, compared to
some of the other stuff the mint has come up with lately.
