Have any of the 2009 dated coins started to circulate yet?

I just got a desperate call from a friend's wife. She knows I am a coin weenie, and her daughter has a scavenger hunt to do at school. One of the items on the list is to get a 2009 circulating coin. Personally, I have not seen any yet, and she even called the bank and they did not have any either. They live in New Jersey, so maybe that has something to do with it image, but to my knowledge, this year's coins have not hit tony southwestern Connecticut either.

Has anyone seen a 2009 circulating coin yet?

    New Jersey residents are not permitted to have new coins. They must use old ones that have circulated elsewhere. This is payback for having marketed unsweetened cranberry juice.

    It will be interesting to see when someone *honestly* gets a 2009 commem. lincoln in circulation. I hope I have my reading glasses with me when I do! It will be like seeing that first Memorial fifty years ago...and I still remember it, walking home from Billy Breders Store a half block up....probably with a box of animal crackers...looking at lincoln sitting inside that building! Must have been six.

    I used to live in Maine. We never had new coins other than cents. I saw my first circulating Franklin half about 1955/6 and that was a 1952.

    I have been spending 2009 D dollar coins locally.

    None found in ciruclation here in S. Cal. When my kids were younger, I had an annual contest to who could find the first new year dated coin in circuloation. First prize: Dad made their bed for them for a week.

    Same here RWB, Nevada is the Silver State and does not allow clad coinage. What we do get has to be smuggled in by visitors, I think.

    Just used 20 of the Native Americans to pay the registered mail fees for a package going to PCGS.
    Just a bunch of beat up Denver coins. Have not found anything in the first two rolls opened.

    I spent most of my $ 500 worth of Native American Sac dollars. Most stores clerks pocket them before they hit the registers. So much for circulation.

    I went to the bank yesterday looking for DC quarters and the NA dollars with no luck.
