Morally it's wrong to alter the card to conceal it's obvious print issue. Thee seller made the card look so clean it looks like it belongs in a Psa 9 holder. In my opinion it's worth giving the seller a negative just to snuff out this kind of garbage on Ebay.

I tend to agree, in this instance.
If one reviews the seller's other card-listings, it appears that all of his scans are "extra beautiful."
.....
I suppose it is possible that the seller is just not familiar with how to leave his editorial changes out of the scans. Some sellers just get carried away with the possibilities. Maybe somebody just needs to tell him how to make a "simple" scan that shows what a card ACTUALLY looks like.

Hey Scott,
Before you continue to twist this any further, this was my statement about a refund:
<<Very good point. I have bought some very nice and high end/expensive items from people I don't know on Ebay.
And for the record, the seller claims he is willing to refund Ron's money.>>
I never claimed to be anything important, nor did I brag for any reason about anything. I made a simple statement. Why must some of you guys pull this garbage? If you don't like me, fine. But at least stop lying and twisting my words to make me out to me something I never claimed to be in the first place.
You see, this is the cheap shots that continue. No matter what I say or do, you folks that hate me continue the spewing of venom towards me. You can't just stop being blinded by hate, to admit I done nothing wrong here. Heck, RonBurgundy is the real party involved here, and he is not mad or sluring me, yet, you haters are. If that's not telling, then I don't know what is.
It's just like a member pm'ed me yesterday saying that this nonsense you guys do towards me is just plain ignorant and ruins every thread that I try to post in. No matter how genuine I am, you folks that hate me can't put away the juvenile issues, and make this board a productive place so we can ALL co-exist and enjoy the hobby. This place is swirling into a sewer of useless bias hatred anymore. That is, unless you are a buddy in one of the little cliques on here. Then you are pretty much untouchable.
<< <i>Tim get off your soap box. hate is pretty strong word. Believe me no one hates you.
You said you made one statement regarding the refund? Actually you made about 4 of them.
You came here and insulted Ron then back tracked and wonder why people react the way they do?
Yeah I know you were misunderstood. Blech!
For a guy that is always whining about vendettas you harbor as many or more then just about everyone.

How many threads do I come into and troll you, like you guys do me? Outside of PoppaJ and I hashing it out in a thread, since he blocked my pms after popping off at me, how many members have I came directly at in a thread for no reason? Please answer the question.
Go back and read my first post in this thread. I never insulted Ron. You need to go back and read what I said, no what you want it to mean. At the very bottom of my reply, it's very clear what I said. Another member ever sad it was a good post.
Ron is not mad or having a hangup over anything, so why are a few of you guys? I know why, and so do you.

Physical threat? You are a piece of work and when it comes to hypocricy, a word you like to throw at others, your pompous bellowings about your religious beliefs shows loud and clear. You sir, are the hypocrite.
I don't make physical threats. The statement was figurative. Go ahead and resort to name calling, posturing and flex those Internet muscles of yours... You don't impress me at all!
<<First off, anyone who has ever owned a PSA graded card should have enough common sense that when they see a PSA label with that much vibrant red color, you know the scan has been pumped up.
You CAN clearly see some snow on the card, even with the pumped up scan the seller posted in the auction. Granted, it's not as noticeable as the scan you provided, but there is obvious snow on the card from the seller's scan.
A PSA 8 was paid for, and that is exactly what the seller delivered. That exact card no less, so I don't know how Paypal will deal with that situation. Does it make it right to pump up the color? No, it sure does not.. But........ when you are paying big dollars for cards, some common sense has to kick in as well. Anyone that collects any vintage knows the color on the card was not correct in the scan, nor was the color of the PSA label. Both were clearly pumped up.
Why is PSA getting a pass on this one? Can't we agree that the card was graded wrong to begin with?
I'm not knocking anyone, just saying we have to use better detective skills when buying higher end cards. Graded or not.
EDIT: typo>>

3. Let's just hope the seller does the right thing, and corrects his scan to show how it accurately presents in person, before it gets listed the next time. >>
Making others aware of selling practices is the best thing that can be done after the refund... >>
/////////////////////////////////
I tend to agree, in this instance.
If one reviews the seller's other card-listings, it appears that
all of his scans are "extra beautiful."
.....
I suppose it is possible that the seller is just not familiar with
how to leave his editorial changes out of the scans. Some
sellers just get carried away with the possibilities. Maybe
somebody just needs to tell him how to make a "simple"
scan that shows what a card ACTUALLY looks like.
I dunno.
Hey just thought of this. So when I go play all these awesome golf courses here in fl I should get a refund because all of the photoshopping they do in the brochure! Might try that get 9 in and let it fly.
JUST SAYIN
<< <i>
<< <i>I think a few points are in order here:
2) The seller has indeed indicated he will issue a full refund. I appreciate that. But Stan, how did you know that? Did I miss a post here?

Ron,
1. He told me he would gladly refund you. That is a good thing, and I am glad for your sake. >>
STM:
Hmmmm, so you contacted the seller on Tom's (RonBurgandy) behalf? Or do you know Pete (the seller) personally and it just came up in conversation? I'm sure Tom feels much better knowing that you're taking care of his business for him. What a sport!
BTW, it's nice to see that you've finally made a post and not bothered to go back and edit it...

RonBurgandy knows why it was mentioned between myself and the seller of the Mantle/Berra, and that is the only one who needs to know why I knew about the situation. I was not taking care of his business. He is a big boy, and can do that just fine.
If I need to edit a post to correct a typo once I read back over it, then that is also my business. Thanks for all your efforts to pop off at me though.

Well, you're the one that popped off as if you were the great go-between and acting as if you had taken this upon yourself to make it right. Rather than pat yourself on the back and tell us AGAIN "that you know," why dodge the question? Why say that RonBurgandy knows when he CLEARLY pointed out that he DIDN'T know why you were involved. I certainly hope that you never poke your nose in my business because you would find it out of joint quicker than we found those weapons of mass destruction...
If you want to wear the big britches, then you have to have the cajones to fill the crotch! Otherwise, stop acting like the all-knowing, all-involved. You aren't.
And by the way, if this is such a burden, why not keep your mouth shut or click another URL. I'm sure that you can find something to your liking somewhere like www.StrokeTimsEgo.com.

Anytime you want to attempt to cause me any physical harm, I will give you my address and you can come try it punk. Trust me, I don't think that would be a smart move on your part. But, since you wanted to make the threat you did towards me, I will glady resolve it if need be.

Hey Scott,
Before you continue to twist this any further, this was my statement about a refund:

Steve

Steve,
How many threads do I come into and troll you, like you guys do me?

Steve,
There you go in clear black letters. If you want to spin my words, split hairs, whatever, go right ahead. I made it very clear I was NOT knocking anyone from the start. You even tried to play a childish game and fuel a fight between Ron and I, by suggesting I had a vendetta against him, when I don't even know the guy. I have nothing against him, and he knows that. That is plain ignorant to pull that, and you knew what you were hoping to do by making that comment. Just stop the madness..

<< <i>First off, anyone who has ever owned a PSA graded card should have enough common sense that when they see a PSA label with that much vibrant red color, you know the scan has been pumped up.

I don't even know what in the world you are talking about, unless it was about your boy PoppaJ? Yep, he has me on ignore after taking some cheap shots in a pm at me, and then he never allowed me to reply via pm before he blocked me. He didn't want a reply, he just wanted a free shot to pop off at me, without a response back. Ask Carol, she can verify what I am saying. Go ahead, since you can't believe PoppaJ wrote that pm. Well, I am telling you for a fact that he did.
I asked you "how do you know he blocked you" You then went on some tirade.
I'm not going to ask Carol anything. Either you know that he blocked you or you don't.
And if you do I just wanted to know how!
No alterior motives involved.

How does one block another user from PM's on this site? I'd love to know...but I'm sure you won't answer.
On second thought, how does one block a user's posts. That would be priceless information.
