The Taco Bell Napkin Toner Question

Over the past few years I have seen frequent comments re how napkins from Taco Bell are used to impart toning to silver coins. Out of curiosityI decided to try this procedure. I stopped by the local TB and picked up a few napkins. They were just brown "generic" type napkins - not ones like Burger King which are embossed with the name of the burger joint. Are the type of napkins I obtained similar to what others have used or has the local TB simply gone generic with their plain brown napkins?

I know, dumb question but there seems no reason to waste time proceeding with the incorrect wrap.

It's the brown ones that do it- I think it is the chemicals in the dye used to make them brown that creates the toning.
But before you start AT'ing coins you should consider this-

I think the napkins have to be used. A clean napkin is boring. And for a monster tone, you can't get away with a taco or burrito. I think you need a double beef encherito meltimex chalupa tostito grande.

It's the sulfur content of the napkin that causes the toning and the brown ones are usually made from recycled paper which may have a higher sulfur content.

Yep, the plain Brown Taco Bell napkin is the choice of Coin Dr's everywhere

Back in Sept I wrapped a blah looking Silver Darside coin up in a wad of napkins, added a few drops of water, placed it in a zip-lock bag & tossed the bag in my car trunk.. Figured the tempt. extreems would speed up the process, so far no change ;(

Maybe I should have farted in the bag after that Taxo Bell meal ?

Go ahead and wrap up a no grader coin that is shiny white but can't get a F in school, leave it in the nappie for oh say 6 months in an area that has a bit of moisture and heat (try a hot water heater) then take a look at it.

It works.............

Paper is brown until it's bleached to make it white.

skip the napkin...just toss your coin into a ziploc type baggie with a book of matches. Tell us if that works

Yes but then your coin will small like chickin and Mad Marty will come looking for.
