What's your collecting "guilty pleasure"?

My current one is 1986 Fleer Baseball!

Sick, ain't it?

Insert cards, stickers, stamps and coins from the 60's & 70's - luv 'em, and many are very affordable even in high grade.

I hate to say it but 90's insert sets. Obscure MSA disc sets are a close second. Despite the fact that they are worthless I still enjoy putting the sets together.

I guess I would have to say XFL related memorabilia. But in my defense, it is a subset of my defunct football league memorabilia collection.

Still looking for the last two game balls from 2001 Topps XFL to finish off my master set. Not many people opened this stuff back in 2001 and they sure the heck aren't doing so now. I think they believe there is no market for this stuff to bother listing it and for the most part they are right.

Its almost embarassing to say but those combo boxes you see at major retailors. "8 Packs for $11.99" I see one pack in the box that I like and sure enough I buy it.

    Massively overproduced 1988-1990 football cards.

I just purchased a 1990 Score Mark Carrier PSA 10 and I nearly pissed myself out of sheer bliss.

    Mark Carrier the safety.

    from the Bears.

I've been on a '90s insert kick for awhile now.

It's mostly a cheap habit though, so no complaints. I tend to purchase obscure Frank Thomas lots on eBay and hope for the best. Surprisingly, I've gotten some tough pulls that way. I got a Frank last week from a .99 lot that in the '90s was 1 in every 288 packs. I missed an awesome lot yesterday with a rare starquest card in it. It sold for a whopping $3.

I'm still looking for my ultimate '90s inserts...the Donruss Crusade series (in all versions).

I buy those in raw form when I can. They're so cheap but have pretty pictures and smell old.

Almost the same thrill as finding mainstream cards of that age.

There is a big blurry spot on your image, you may want to fix that.

'81 Donruss. Actually all '81's. It was the peak of my collecting years so am still fond of them.

If I did I might get banned as there are some slight naughty bits showing. Hopefully no one is offended by the images.

It's the first year missing one issue and the first best of issue. Traded some open reel tapes for these issues and others back in my younger days.

BunchOBull - I got my first 64 Giant in trade here and kinda thought they were neat, all but the huge names can be had cheap and in great shape.

I picked up a great looking Clemente the other day for next to nothing. It has 4 soft corners, but is decently centered, has an extremely clean front, and under the loupe appears creaseless...overall, it just looks nice. It's not like I don't already have it in a higher grade, but I have a hard time passing up a Clemente for a buck.

Those 44-card Fleer boxed sets sold at drug stores and five-and-dime stores (for you old timers) in the mid- to late-80s (Ben Franklin, McCrory's, Walgren, Cumberland Farm, Revco, ad infinitum). I remember eagerly searching for them whenever I went to a new city that had a different chain of drug stores. image

I've got probably 120 of his cards. Considering he's only played in one game and isn't on a roster now, that's probably a lot image
