Isnt it becuase that the US mint is no longer going to allow general public purchase of silver and gold AE, and only allow its major distribtors to buy direct??

They are the US Mint. They can do anythng they want!

BTW, are those folks in your avatar showing off their boogars or what?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

(Old man) Look I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, “That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah”.

(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?

The Mint is required by law to fulfill the bullion orders first, before making other coins, i.e. SAE mint marked numismatic coins. Due to the difficulty getting silver and the huge demand for bullion, the Mint may not be able to make SAE W Unc coins this year.

It may be a while before you see them. The Mint is still trying to obtain enough silver for the business strikes.

I didn't catch the rest of the sentence... fell out of my chair laughing after reading the first few words.

Michael over at Mint News Blog wrote an article today about this very subject. What if we don't get any 2009-dated American Eagle collectibles? Wouldn't the Mint have enough platinum if they melted the plat anniversary sets that they couldn't unload? Or maybe that's what they're using for the regular bullion coins.

What will be there will be there.
I flip but don't live by flipping. I collect. So, why bother getting worked all up about it?

I live the SAEs but if they go away, I won't cry. Same for the other eagles....if they go away, I won't cry. There will continue to be something in the 1oz range for "investment" purposes. Not going to worry if it is on the schedule by January or if it goes in the schedule one of the other 11 months of the year.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    I agree!

I would prefer them wait until March or April for the ASE's
