He said the confirmation number was good enough. I'm holding, may play the FS game.

Small potatoes ... You haven't seen nothing yet, wait till the PCGS First Strike 70's show up.
I priced mine at a bit below $1700 ($1688.88, to be exact) in order to have it appear ahead of those that were priced at/near $1700.
It sold in just under 2 hours.

Not too bad $358 profit (plus mileage if your card has perks).
Joe
With free shipping/insurance and having to ship book separately (maybe) along with straight fixed price auction
The $358 is much less maybe $300.
Still not bad for a couple of hours work.

It does!
And I have requested that the buyer pay by PP echeck, although I don't know if they will do so. I'll save a fair amount if they do.
I mean think about it............
These are currently available at the US Mint for a little under $1200 yet folks still bid on them on eBay for $1700.
I just do not understand.
The name is LEE!

Hey don't forget the 20th anniversary silver sets. There was one dealer on ebay who was buying all he could on ebay @$160 a set when they could still be had for $100 a set at the mint, becuase he had a feeling they would take off. Then months later he sold each set for $500 a set. That guy made a killing and he definately had the last laugh. I would not be surprised if those buying at $1700 each now are dealers who have a big hunch.

And if 50% grade out at a 70FS, they will make a killing.
I hope I get one with missing edge lettering
I believe the 1 oz Eagles grade out at about 50% ratio and these may too.

As well the seller should. After all, serving his customer (up on a platter) is customary.

<< <i>My local dealer offered me $4k for both, about 4 hours ago. I don't even have them in hand.

This is all very surprising to me. The amounts people are paying on ebay when they can get the same coin at the mint with the possibliity of getting more than one later in the year. As the coin has an unlimited mintage that will go into the hundreds of thousands, I would sell ASAP as it does not seem possible that the coin will be a long term winner (with the exception of 70s). Irrational exuberance?.

I guess two birds in the hand are worth one in the mail.
