Wow! Hope one of the four $10 I currently have at NGC comes back with a 70. Two or three would be even nicer. But, I didn't see more than a 69 in any of them.

    Earlier this year, PCGS quit calling it an "Error" coin, as well.

    Keeping my opinion to myself. Last time I voiced THAT I CONSIDER IT A MINT ERROR I stirred up a few collectors.

    Mintage unknown, but thought to be low. Only one set of dies thought to have been used on the each of the $5 and $10 and good possibility the ERROR was caught before the full run on the dies. Only clues to mintage are pop reports (ICG has graded a few as well).

    Thanks, I didn't know that. I never really considered it an error either. More a variety IMO. I guess that makes my slab an Error, Error Slab.image

    Still way too much for that coin. I've never seen a NGC MS70 that I didn't think was a 69.

    You guys who keep beating your head against the "it's just bullion" wall are the ones that amaze me. Why don't you just say, "I can't believe anyone spent $8500 on a coin in a series that I don't collect." Or tell TDN that his namesake was minted as a bullion coin and see if you get any rebuttal on that one?

    Keep it up, those of us who believe differently enjoy your humerous posts.

    There must be some PCGS 70s mixed in, but maybe not many. Yes, NGC 70s sell for way too much on PCGS coattails. --Jerry

    No humor intended......although seeing people spend stupid money on bullion yes bullion (not just coins I don't collect) makes me chuckle inside. I like many coin series that I don't personally collect including the Trade Dollar, which IS a coin.

    Anything paid over spot is tooooooo much for bullion! image

    Oldwestgold, on my clad roosies. Yes, I paid more than 10 cents for most of them. BUT, they ARE coins. I don't pay stupid money for clads. I have to collect them because they are a part of the Complete Dime series. What are bullion chunks part of? NOTHING!!

    Most of my roosies are 10-40 dollar coins!imageimage

    Why on earth would anyone collect roosies? I mean, they have little historical significance, they are common coins found in circulation, and they are small.

    And saying you collect something "because they are a part of the Complete Dimes Series" means you are not a collector at all, you are a wanna-be elitist. What would any REAL collector care about complete sets or series?

    For some reason, I think you are just a contrarian.

    BUT, Proof bullion is even MORE common..........and was made yesterday....hand carried.....so they SHOULD be HIGH grade....and they look like something the Franklin Mint would put out! imageimage
