<< <i>AU-50 technically, wouldn't surprise me to see this "market graded" to 55 as a pop for the color. >>
Beautiful toning.

That disclaimer aside, the coin appears to have high-point wear on both sides, and some luster imparement in the fields. AU 55 is my grade.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
<< <i>1892 barber halfs were known for there cartwheel luster that certainly would be more visable in a higher grade. >>
That's probably true...course, this is a quarter

Doh! and double doh! i guess it helps to read the description clearly
with the New Orleans mint and the fact that it's a quarter I change my grade to AU 55
Congrats to STONE for nailing it within a minute!
I bought this coin from Bruce Braga about a year ago at Long Beach for a bit north
of double sheet (hey, sometimes humans behave irrationally...
on the areas of the obverse that appear darker, but fortunately, it's very strong on
the reverse fields, which gives the color some vibrancy. I enjoy this coin. Hope you
did, too.
