Barber Quarter made into pin

  It's a pushout. Those were all the rage in the early 1900s. I have a bunch of them from the LA Purchase Expo in St Louis in 1904.

  It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  I've seen these before on Morgan Dollars, but I think this is the first one I've seen on a Barber Quarter ...
  
  IIRC they were pushed into a counter die top make as a pin or brouche (sp?)

  Somebody posted recently that he had these in all 3 Barber denominations and that the dime is very rare. There was another post, perhaps by the same person, showing the patent for how these were made.

  I found one of those metal detecting but they punched out the reverse, probably why it was buried edit to add, that is a very nice pushout I really like the fact they put the date on it (for whatever reason)
