This was also my guess.
PCGS-35
Note: Both NGC and PCGS vary greatly on VF and EF CBHs so guessing the assigned grades could be a crap-shoot. Nice coins, though.

edited to add --- I would guess the above grades on coins graded earlier this year or last year...
...if graded in the past few months I would not be surprised to see them as 30 and 35...
1st coin - XF45
2nd coin - XF40
As far as what's actually on the plastic is anybody's guess...
VF30
VF35
XF-40
But it could just as well, be the other way around.
I will start the bidding at $5 each.

Please remember that what you are going to call a "Correct Answer" will only be the
Plastic grade on the label, many times far from correct.
I like my grading better than the TPG's on many a day in the CBH series so I think my answer is correct and they
were guessing
Let me know what you grade them also and why.
Looks like the options are:
35, 35
40, 45
45, 40
35, 30
The others are ruled out as each of them has more than one guess.
(Is there a giveaway for correctly guessing who guessed right first?)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Treeman having the correct answer.

Yeah, that and flat strikes. Should I tell you now or in the morning? I kinda am in the mood to go to sleep...

No sticker for you!!!!!
Both coins have the same flat strike. In hand, the apparent wear looks closer than in the pics. Luster is a bit better on the NGC coin, with the PCGS coin actually having slightly heavier toning. The long of the short of it is that this is and the
The NGC coin has an XF 40 grade while the PCGS coin has a 45. I ain't going to argue with either other than say the PCGS grade may be a little on the generous side, while the NGC coin may be a bit on the conservative side.
But I ain't no grader. I just like the originality!

2. PCGS VF35...
The first coin could go 45 if it had some luster, 40 is right without it.
When I called it flat I was not referring to the strike which is obviously soft,
but flat due to no luster showing.
Do you think the first coin has enough luster to go 45 Dave?

I was thinking the opposite...
The bottom coin has much better color and much more detail.
Neither coin makes 45 to me.

I would say the top one has more apparent luster. Both are old looking making luster hard to find, but its there. I think the biggest point of this is how difficult these are to grade. Firstly, they will look flat. Non-dipped coins with lots of stuff on them will not have any apparent luster in a photo anyway. The strikes for these are of the sort where the details are very easily worn off, so a coin that has some wear to it will lose detail rather than just show a bit of wear. That is why I can see a 45 grade on the PCGS coin. Even on the NGC coin. You can't expect blazing luster on toned coins and need to try and balance your grade out a bit by remaining detail and come to a compromise. I have so many AU's where there is hardly any wear, but the toning and dirt makes the coin look XF 45. Yet give that baby a little dip and...

Must admit, I struggle to see 45's absent luster, even if primarily clingling to the devises.
