Since both cert numbers are currently valid and the PCGS coin has something occuring at the 3:30 position neat the dentils which the NGC coin does not, I'd have to ask if this was the same coin and do you know for a fact that it is the same coin?
Eliasberg did have duplicates you know.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
Look at the little black spec on the edge of Liberty's shin, it's the same coin.
All I can say is that I'm surprised it didn't go from a 58 to a mint state from what I've seen of these type things in the past. I'd bet good money the culprit had that in mind when doing his deed.

Dipped
Did I win?

In fact, they lost on this one.
After cracking & dipping how would they know it's the same?
(unless it was done by NCS)
It's sad, I liked the original skin in the pcgs slab!
Knowing these two facts is all that allows me to go on another day after seeing this coin so tragically violated:
1. The owner devalued the coin by ruining, so, in a sense, has been punished.
2. The Steelers beat the crap out of the Patriots on Sunday.

“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”
