ICG closes doors on 11/26/08 in Colorado and reopens in Tampa Florida December 8.

Well as you guys know I got stiffed at the Baltimore show this past weekend trying to get over 50 coins reslabbed and some graded at the ICG booth and they were a no show.

So today I called and talked to Monica, well she didn't want to come out and tell me, but I asked her hey you guys did a no, no not letting collectors you weren't coming down to Balt/more and I then asked her I need to ship you guys some coins to be reslabbed. I said I know you are moving to Florida so should I wait later next week because of the holidays, Monica told me that's a good idea because tomorrow is the last business day here in Colorado and we will reopen for business in Tampa Florida of December 8.

I just wanted to let some of you guys that still use ICG to wait and get new address, I asked for that and she told me that call on the 8th of December and they will be glad to help me.

ICG's owner, Tampa megadealer National Gold Exchange, apparently wants ICG totally in-house.

Well said, Karl. Those fellas should do us a favor and keep their doors shut.

Why would closing be doing us a favor? I know that I would be in no way positively affected by that. If they want to do me a favor, they can send me some money and then close.

How some forget if it wasn't for ICG, Anacs or NGC what would this hobby be?

ICG if most dealers and collectors understand brought 10's of thousands of new collectors in this hobby in the past 10 years.

Maybe hoping that some successful business would close it's doors would mean more money out of your pocket and tighter grading from your current companies.

Lastly I have seen flaws in all the top TPG's, yea even PCGS so again if your a real collector you will welcome any company or competition to remain. So you have something to compare your slabs to. Jmho.

Yes Ellis left a few months back.

Randy Campbell and Andy Vickery are making the move. Tim Hargis their former head grader is not moving with them and I am unsure about Casey Blaselick. So as it stands there are two confirmed ICG graders. Good luck to them.

I don't get the sense that even with two graders they will have a hard time keeping up with submissions.

Maybe they should just rent a train car and put the graders in that.

    Yaha,

Thanks for using the PCGS boards to let us know all this and to promote sending coins to ICG. Very respectful of you to PCGS to do so.

I wish the people involved the best of luck but could not give a hoot about ICGNACS.

Just the fact that ICG will be owned by a dealer that focuses on volume does not bode well for the quality of the grading IMO...I would suspect at one point there will be pressure to grade more liberally for one reason or another.

I'd find it dubious if it makes a big difference. People who choose ICG over PCGS usually have a (or more) good reason. IMO those coins prob. go to ANACS instead.

Doesn't matter if it makes a big difference. In my book, it is flat out disrespectful. Kind of like going into McDonalds and carrying a big sign that Burger King is right down the road.

I guess that some folks just use the boards any way they see fit and have no respect for the host of the boards.

Again we see there is only one way of thinking in your world. There is nothing disrespectful about this thread. As I was hoping to save some people trouble that do collect all type of slabs from grading companies, I didn't want them to get delayed anymore then they would of been if they sent them to the new address.

Furthermore, the way some right minded people have offered there insight, PCGS could and probably will get more business because of the continuing troubles at ICG.

Sometimes it's better to move on if you don't have nothing nice to say, or anything worth sharing instead of insults.

Talking about disrespect,As I continue to read your responses in negative terms, not only to my posts but many others on here.

It's a freaking coin board/forum, yes PCGS owns it, but what does have to do with anything.

George, the only thing lame here is your attempt at reasoning. Just admit you are being disrespectful of PCGS and their boards to promote ICG and it will all be good.
If you want to enlighten others on how to submit to ICG, why not join their boards (oh, right, they don't pay for one for their 2 customers to use), Or, use another message board that is all about the collectors....they are out there.

You can read my responses as negative or you can read them as matter of fact. Doesn't matter to me. I help those that I can and I call it like I see it. More than a few folks on here like to treat these boards as if they are anything goes. They aren't. They are a paid resource by PCGS (CU). Understanding that, I try to be respectful to the host. I also try to be respectful to those that deserve it.

The part of your quote that I bolded is indictative of how you think....I guess if you don't even know the answer to your own question, there is no hope in trying to explain it to you...kind of like someone telling you they got burned by buying from those late night tv coin-hawkers and saying they have learned their lesson, but then they go right back and do it again....just some missing logic there image

You just don't get it do you. Well I hope the best for your logic for many years to come my friend.

But again there was no intent to promote ICG in anyway. I collect coins in any slab that I think is worthy of my domain. So your theory of what I was offering has nothing to do with promoting another TPG.

And as you have said out loud, I guess any previous ICG graders that many also worked at PCGS and NGC probably graded alot of your coins and you are calling them worthless right to their face Boch.

You are who you are and I am who I am. So I'm fine with that. Good Luck.image

I'm Done. No more replies to your comments Boch, but remember just like a few other threads you have made cracks on because someone spelled something wrong or counter replied to your opinion it's all ok on your final spat. Geeze some people. A Theory is one thing but calling someone a liar of their intent is a whole nother ballgame and it is just not right.
