Some friendly "competition" - Here's my 1870 Proof Set (LARGE POST!)

[By the way Dwaine...you do have some very nice coins in your set.]

It took me a few years or so to get all of this together. I would have to say that most, if not all look much better in hand than photos will ever show. They are all quite flashy and you'll note which ones likely are also truly beautiful in hand. I would also say that all are problem-free and high-end for each of their grades. I'd be hard pressed to replace some of them. True, with a few (or a few thousand) extra dollars many of them can be upgraded.

If the coin has cameo, there's a "true color/detail" photo and a cameo photo of the coin. I'm still having one hell of a time, even with decent lighting and camera equipment to show off mirrors without blinding out details of the coin. Also, I'm sure many of you will appreciate I've gone down to a much smaller display format for my coin pictures. The actual pictures are many times in size, especially for the larger coins.

Congrats Prethen! Proof sets can be tough to put together, and your set is very, very nice.

Mike, that is one very well matched set! There's only one coin to go, right?

Great sets in this thread. Too bad more people don't try to put together matched proofs sets like these.
