A couple Bust halves I got today

commoncents123 · October 29, 2008 10:40AM

I was very thrilled with these pickups today, especially the '07. My year set is getting much closer to complete

STONE · October 29, 2008 10:43AM

Both are great looking coins which seem to show the same crusty color

BTW- Both look undergraded to me (1807: G-6, 1818 VF-30), which is rare since most of the NGC CBH's I see are overgraded by a point.

commoncents123 · October 29, 2008 10:44AM

I know, I know...undergraded is what I thought too.

MikeInFL · October 29, 2008 10:59AM

I gotta say that's an awful strong g4 -- particularly the obverse. I'd have guessed VG all day long.

The VF20 looks undergraded too.

Plastic may be hurting these coins.

PCcoins · October 29, 2008 11:01AM

I didn't think NGC undergraded coins?

Goldbully · October 29, 2008 11:01AM

Great pickups commoncents123!!!!!

That G-4 needs a star!!!!

pcgs69 · October 29, 2008 11:28AM

I was thinking about bidding on that 1807. Looks like a nice coin and undergraded.

commoncents123 · October 29, 2008 11:30AM

You should have-- It's even nicer in hand

… · October 29, 2008 11:47AM

MAN, that 1818 got shafted!! VF 20?!?!?

fivecents · October 29, 2008 12:00PM

Love the color of both coins Rob. Very nice pick ups.

fishteeth · October 29, 2008 12:01PM

robkool · October 29, 2008 12:11PM

Nice... And both appear to be undergraded too...

TennesseeDave · October 29, 2008 12:16PM

I am doing the same set in VF-AU.I like the coins you have been adding to your set as well.

DoubleEagle59 · October 29, 2008 12:35PM

that's a G-4??

man, that looks undergraded to me.

Great coins though.

dorkkarl · October 31, 2008 3:07AM

jdillane · October 31, 2008 4:02AM

Wow. Ngc grader was in a foul mood when grading those nice specimens. I agree that they are both under graded. the 1807 looks to be a solid VG and the 1818 is easily a 25. With the caveat that I am not missing something by looking at images of coins in slabs!

ttown · October 31, 2008 4:06AM

Boy that 07 looks like a VG10 to me and the other a VF25/30. You don't see many coins undergraded in NGC holders often but the Bust Halves are hard to grade since they have some strike issues esp in the 07/08 coins.
