Nikon Camera folks, can you give me a quick opinion

I am buying this coin to take pictures of coins so it IS related, kinda. And sorry for the duplicate post, I am ready to pull the trigger on this and just wanted some reasurance because it is expensive.

Is this Nikon D90 kit deal a good one? I am planning on using the MSN Live 25% discount, I have an eBay coupon for another 10% and the seller has marked it down 5% too. My total should be about $1100 all said and done if everything works out ok with the discounts. It is the body, two VR lenses and a bunch of other not so usefull stuff.

Considering the D90 body only is $999 at BH photo if you can get all that for $100 more then it seems like a good deal to me.

The 18-55 mm lens is what I use to shoot coin pics. Someday I'll spring for a macro lens. The 55 - 200 mm is great for outdoor stuff. You will like the pics that thing takes. BTW, I bought the same outfit (D40) with the same two lenses for about half of what you'll pay for the D90. D40 and a $500 coin, or the D90. Either way, you will appreciate the camera and the pics it takes. BTW, I'm not trying to talk you out of making the D90 purchase, just presenting an alternative.

I see the same seller has just the body for sale in a different auction.
Might be worth considering but the picture Mesquite posted looks great so the lens that comes with that kit it may be just fine for coin pics

Do NOT buy a used camera! Look at www.techbargains.com and they list great specials. Buy only
from reputable dealers like B&H or Ritz.

Jesse, I see you bought the D90. You will like it! The waiting for it to arrive will be torturous - but the waiting won't last long.

If you're going to buy a used camera -- be 100% sure it is a USA camera (as opposed to an imported camera) if you ever want it to be reparied by Nikon.

Just curious. When did the topic of buying a used camera come up prior to sfs2002usa's post? Just to be clear, the kit that Jesse showed containing the D40 body (this is what I bought a few months back) can be purchased NEW for around $600.

If you don't mind barrel distortion, pin cushioning, chromatic aberration, yeah, it's a great lens.
