I haven't seen you around here lately, but I sure see that hasn't stopped you from buying some great looking coins.
I dig the look of AU58s, but for the price I'd rather have a 53 or 55.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. $240 more is a 40% price increase for a coin that probably doesn't look that much better. And in this specific case, look at the coin, it's a beauty....might be awhile before you find a 63 like that.

nice coin you nabbed there...

I can see both sides of this argument. There are probably plenty of MS63 Isabellas
that look this nice, and the premium isn't really very much compared to many
other coins when going from 58 to 63. Kinda just depends on how much money
you want to spend.
The real trick with 58s is to find a 64 or 65 coin with rub...
I just think that’s cool.

If you get any of those walkers that I need, I'll buy them for 61/62 money.

Technical Grading is significantly different from Commercial
Grading yet BOTH still boil down to matters of opinion.

<< <i>Do many sellers crack out AU 58's and sell them as raw 63's ?

... it wouldn't surprise me if some didn't end up in Third World Slabs ( I won't mention any names) and sold that way.

Sweet Mother of Trade Dollars, that's got the look...
Sometimes AU55 can be as good as AU58 with more character...
So let's open it up to 55 & 58...

Neat thread. There are some really good looking 58s here.

Morning all...
Sometimes I think the grading services default to 58 way to much and that's the problem with technical grading, it's black or white. You would think eye appeal would come into the mix somewhere in the process but maybe I should keep my mouth shut and live off the fat of the land..."-)
Did some digging in the safe last night, knew I had some 58's somewhere..."-)
Here's a real treat and she's a O-105 - R4 to boot...
PS... Excuse the quick photos but I was also having a few drinks as I was digging..."-)
