  • I got one from some random eBay seller and one form BBCkid. Both the same. No FF's but got a rack with Ripken black box on top. Selling the extra boxes in garage sale this weekend. Let me know how the Higbees box goes. I almost bought one last night.

Higbees = No Ripkens of any kind.
  • 2 Higbees buyers have rec'd no FF variations I have been told. I assume saw cut era. Higbees said it was most likely they were made for K-Mart.

I have bought a few rack cases recently.

    1 case no versions

    1 case BBox round edge

    3 cases BBox square edge

    another case incoming

Pulled 3 racks with BBox on top and this rack with double borders. lol

If anyone wants to sell their stickers in bulk cheap let me know (looking for the ones with 4 different circular stickers on them....I use them for my school kids quizes/tests)

PM me your address and I can send you a bunch of them.

  • << <i>BBCE - round black box >>

I got one rack case and 8 wax boxes from BBCE last month and all ine were either FF or black scribble. The ones with FF had the Johnson full Marlboro ad and the ones with black scribble had the ad partially obscured.

Notice how he only has 1989 Fleer in cello and wax. Resealable. Doesnt use his own pics and now has a PSA 10 Heath/Brookens error. Most likely he learned that PSA now grades them from the thread on here.

Just some quick questions on the list:

Romine Action/Pose - is the other pose just a head or body shot??

Allen Syosset/Saratosa - is it Neil Allen??

    Moses Phoenix/Tempe - John Moses??

    Henderson/ Hendersor C-List (positions-no positions with "r"-no positions with "n" - Rickey or Dave??

C-Lists that lists players positions - ?? not sure what this means, is it one of the checklist cards??

  • Romine Action/Pose - running is error, standing is corrected

Allen Syosset/Saratosa - is it Neil Allen?? -Yes.

Moses Phoenix/Tempe - John Moses?? Yes

Henderson/ Hendersor C-List (positions-no positions with "r"-no positions with "n" - Rickey or Dave?? Dont remember. I think card 654? I think the r is the common version. I have my other notes at home.

C-Lists that lists players positions - ?? not sure what this means, is it one of the checklist cards?? Yes. The checlists have a rare error. Looks like this below (Thanks again to a fellow CU member for allowing me to finally see one after years of hunting).

And if anyone wants stickers, they can have the several hundred (thousands?) I have here for whatever it costs me to ship them.

I think I have a carter box, when I pull out what I plan to open I'll let you know....they are in another box somewhere in my basement. I also want to thank 1989FleerBillRipkencollector for his help with the list of "errors". Hopefully this weekend I'll start breaking open some boxes.

Ok, so I looked thru all 3 boxes in the case last night, but only busted one. Opened the first box and right on top of the first rack was a Randy Johnson.. sign marked out. Got one other Johnson out of the box, but no Griffs and no B Ripkens at all. I'll post the results of the second box later.

  • alnavman- No problem. Good Luck.

Promethius88- No Griffeys. *shakes head* A guy recently bought 2 rack boxes from me and opened one and accused me of stealing the Griffey as there wasn't one. If our issue goes to court, I'm going to Sopeana you as a witness. image Good Luck with Box #2. When you get no versions, your other boxes will yield no Bills or in one experience, saw cuts.

If anyone is collecting the 89 Fleer errors and needs some of the more common ones..I have a few available for free. The ones like Heath/Brookens are not rare and not valuable. Though there is one guy who is trying to get $100 + for a PSA 10 one. Good Luck with that Gary.

is there inner meaning to this statement: your other boxes will yield no Bills thanks al.

  • << <i>is there inner meaning to this statement: your other boxes will yield no Bills thanks al. >>

Usually if there is not a Bill in one box the other will follow suit. Only 1x have I found different. I busted a rack box and it didn't have Bills so I sold the other 2. The other 2 had saw cuts in them.
    imageimageimage
  • My case yielded 4 Ripken Black Boxes and only one Griffey. So there were 2 boxes out of 3 that did not have a Griffey.
  • You'll get a Sopeana too. image

Well, I found the cello box that I knew I had. Getting ready to open the packs. Also here is scan of the box cover. Is the Carter box still needed and if so any suggestions on how I can get it to you???? I will have to get a box to put it in which will cost plus postage, are you sure you really want to do that?? let me know...here is scan. also the scan looks a lot better than the actual box cover, there is scuffing on the coverimage
  • alnavmanalnavman Posts: 4,129 ✭✭✭
opened up the packs from the cello box and no Griffey's. However found these:image
  • alnavmanalnavman Posts: 4,129 ✭✭✭
I went thru the cards pretty quick and pulled out two of the Heath fronts/Brookens backs and found one Brookens front/Heath back. Also Heep with San Antonio on back, Moses with Phoenix on back, Trillo showing bat and throw right on back, Allen with Syosset...are these "common" type errors ????
    image
  • alnavmanalnavman Posts: 4,129 ✭✭✭
last but not least found these, any errors worth holding on to or possibly grading here????? I also included some scans of cards that I know I was pursuing back in the day since they were all going to be superstars and make me rich....talk about reminising as I went thru the packs WOWimage

  • The Johnson blackouts and the other variations are worthless. The Ripken in a 10 would get you $45-50.
  • alnavmanalnavman Posts: 4,129 ✭✭✭
THANKS lsutigers1973 for the information.are the one's I pictured the actual errors? also are these also worthless?? and are they the errors?? there appears to be a small white dot in the cage on the Orsulak card, is that considered the error?? al.imageimage

There are different colors of the dot - not so much an "error" but variations. >>

Does that Curt Young have a small sideways "S" under his position at the top? Almost looks like a hair? I've found the non-S version to be the tougher of the two. How about everyone else?

Oh but they're both basically worthless btw.

We are celebrating FLEER FRIDAY, show us all your variations!!!! I found one of the rack boxes I had and there wasn't much to talk about, but I did get a Griffey RC. Beleive this is the most common Ripken if not mistaken. Also the Henderson on the checklist appears to read Heandersor

  • Fleer Friday !! lol No one told me.

Heres a thread that has some of my FF stuff.

For Fleer Friday we really should all be wearing a uniform. Here is Fleer Jerseys you can buy. Seller wont fix the pic, evern after numerous requests. If you search the item, the small search pic works.

  • Look. A super new and previously unfound Randy Johnson variant. I call it the booger variant due to the splotch looking like a booger on the card. All kidding aside, I just ran across these print variants that are all the same. Looking under a 10x magnifying glass, they are a cluster of droplets on the cards. I got this case from salssportscards on ebay. All the other cases (Higbees, BBCE, BBCKid) had clean looking cards. The first picture is an upclose of one of the cards and the second is the group of cards with the same booger on it, in the same exact spot.

  • Donovan,

I can't wait to see the Ripken black box rack slabbed to go with your other racks. Is this going to be the first black box with all the cards in the same direction?

I dont have all my pics on here saved or stored in my head but I think that one your sending me will be my 1st BBox "straight" on rack I'll have. Thanks again for the free rack. I appretiate it. Hopefully I'll get $40 for it on ebay. image

neenish- I'm bidding on their rack case they have up. Maybe I can add to your spotty collection. lol I had a few Bonds cards that all had a red ink dot on them and other asst. "ink issues" cards.

I wonder if those bubble looking things were from too much air in the process, somehow?

  • I got 5 Randy Johnsons complete black out w/booger, 6 Ripken black box and Griffey's in the rack case from sals. Oh, and one more Ripken black box "straight" rack pack.
