Miss Emily got a gift yesterday ...

My daughter Emily had saved up almost $100 and wanted to add to her Franklin collection (all BUs). I post a WTB on BST got 6 coins. Tony (DoubleEagle59) saw the request and sent her a 52-D and a 53-D for free. Emily has been pretty exited because she's worked on this for a couple of years and paid for most of the coins with her on earning (trying to add a life lesson to the hobby).

I've seen the same generosity extended to other YNs over the past few years that I've been here. I thinks it pretty neat how this community embraces the newcomers.

Thanks and a special thanks to Tony.

It's great that your daughter is into collecting- my daughter runs hot and cold with it, but it sure is fun when she is into it.

  • She too runs hot and cold. It a blast having someone to go to the coins shows with although they are far and few between here in out neck of the desert.

  • Opus,
Congrats on having such a beautiful and intelligent daughter. She sounds like one of us who some day will tell her husband, "At least I collect coins and not shoes!" HA! And kudos to you for showing her the path. My father was a closet collector (didn't want ANYONE to know he had coins) so I didn't even know about his collection or coins in general until he passed. Keep it up my friend!!!

  • My daughters name is Emily as well and she loves looking at my coins and I am hoping she becomes a collector as she has been given some freebies by other board members as well.....

    Ken,
A shiny Franklin is on the way to Miss Emily. My icon is my smallest of 3 daughters....

Edited to add: Our little Megan (my icon) was born 2.5 months premature with Cerebral Palsy. They told us she would probably never walk, talk or use the right side of her body. Fortunately they didn't tell her that. She's 99% normal!
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
