Is ther a quick way to notify eBay when someone's copied your listing?

I had 2 2008 silver eagle proofs listed on eBay as of Sunday. Sold one. In searching today I found a guy who has copied my listing and picture for 4 of his silver eagle sales. Two of his listings end tomorrow. I emailed eBay under their "Report an item" method, and the guy's listing are still up and going. Is there a quick way to get eBay's attention so these rips get taken down? Thanks in advance.

  • You're not going to get any joy. Ebay doesn't care. I had my auctions copied and reported it. The auctions ran until they were scheduled to be up. What I did was create an image to replace the one they linked to and it said "This image was stolen. " on it. Some put porno pictures there or what have you. Did he steal the image or just link to it?

Now I put my ebay name on the images I use. Makes it not so nice to steal that way.

Did he link the images from your host? If he did, you could have some fun... image

  • Looks like he copied it (?) and ran it through eBay's imaging -- it has the little camera in the right lower corner. My pix is linked to my photobucket. Is there a way to tell for sure?

  • Right-click on his image and look at the properties. Is it your Photobucket pathway (address)?

  • No, it's not my photobucket pathway. It's ebayimg.

Try this eBay link ...Item & description theft

  • Thanks OPA, but that is the way I've reported this issue to eBay twice now today. I've seen posts here in the past where some members seem to have a lot of clout at eBay, and it seems like ripping sellers just go poof after the forum member has waved his/her magic wand. My wand seems to be inverted. image Thank though.

Unless you are a Power Seller with a rep assigned to you, that's the only way to report it. eBay will act on it, but it takes about 24 to 48 hrs ... good luck.
