slab, slabs, slabbed, slabber, registry set, registry quality, pop top, body bag, body bagged, regrade, regraded, resubmit, resubmitted. Pretty much anything dealing with slabs, other than crack out, liberate, disentomb, slabamentalist, and so forth.
Whizzed, damaged, details, net grade, cull, scratched, tooled, polished, nicked, natural toning, sea- salvaged, holed, corroded, rusted, etc. Tooled and whizzed are my biggest turn offs-i usually wont even give the coin a second glance.
and things like-- "lists for $9000 in MS65" and the coin offered is vg with problems worth maybe $12 and has a starting price of $100.
I hate the term "boner toner" to describe a toned coin. I picture some pervert drooling over a coin that has some colorful tarnish.

Although it's probably not the most despised term I can think of, I tend to get this creepy feeling when a dealer describes a coin as "virgin", as in "virgin BU" or "virgin fresh". It's especially creepy when it's mentioned by an older, overweight type of dealer.

I disagree with this Perry. I commonly refer to my 1795 half dollar as a widget because its a coin that can be found by the handful at any decent sized show. A widget doesnt have to be a common date Morgan, or a Franklin half.....it can be any coin that is very readily available, such as a 1795 half.

As originally defined, a widget was a coin not worthy of the high holiness of a LEGEND-ary dealer. A coin such as your 1795 half in anything but SPECTACULAR condition and worthy of a hefty commission is a widget.

LOl, i agree.
I hate the names "TRIME" for a three cent silver
and "TRICKEL" for a three cent nickel...sounds like a 4 year old.
I also hate "LINKY" when someone posts a web link.
I also don't lile the term "PROBLEM FREE" for a coin that is under VF
(or any coin really.)

UNC is still used ALL the time. Where have you been? How do YOU describe an Uncirculated coin?

'Slider' reminds me of White Castle. Eating sliders makes me sick to my stomach, to put it mildly, though lots of people do love them.
