If There is a Deep and Wide Coin Market Recession...
It will be interesting to see who is still standing (remains active posters) on these boards.
I would suspect that a lot of the numismatic investors (those in it for strictly capital appreciation purposes) will disappear.
Perhaps the cadre of nouveau coin E-Bay coin dealers will get whittled down as well. Which for the most part
and in my opinion will be very welcome.
To keep it coin related, post a coin from the depression era

There's simply nothing quite like a penny collector coming on strong like an elitist, and I know that it's hard for you to fathom that some people enjoy Moderns along with investing, but that's life. Get over it.
Oh, to keep it "coin related",
I knew it would happen.

The Panic of 1873 was the start of the Long Depression, a severe nationwide economic depression in the United States that lasted until 1879. It was precipitated by the bankruptcy of the Philadelphia banking firm Jay Cooke on September 18, 1873, following the crash on May 9, 1873 of the Vienna Stock Exchange in Austria (the so-called Gründerkrach or founders' crash). It was one of a series of economic crises in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

the value or rare coin values would prove to be
a benefit. The question I have is whether in such
an economy............will any of us have the money
to make purchases at the new lower prices?

Decided to wander over from the metals forum, eh? Good for you.
Don't like the subject of the thread? Too bad. Totally coin related and tied-into the very current events of the day.
