me personally NO but i cant say bout others image
  • I don't have the nerve to ask to back out!
  • I have been on the other end of that. I have had bidders contact me the following morning requesting to back out of a bid on ebay. Some have even admitted that they were drunk at the time that they bid. I just cancel the results and block them from bidding again. Although not a common occurence for me, it does happen once in a while.

Not having any training in aeronautics I don't make moon money bids.

I had a similar situation. There was a coin that I was shopping for a long time. It is a common enough coin, but whenever one came up for sale or auction, I found a reason to pass, or got out bid. At a recent show, I saw one in an old ANACS small holder. Wow, I felt like had to have that particular coin. I didn't quibble on what was an extremely optimistic price, 50% over greysheet, 25% over retail price, for a coin that usually sells at auction for between sheet and retail.

When I got home I felt terrible. The wholesale price selling to a dealer would likely be less than half of what I paid. The coin is nice enough, but like I said, others come up for sale all the time. Many discount the old ANACS holders, instead of seeing them as above average coins. After several days of regret, I have come to have mixed feelings about that coin. I can tell myself to look at the big picture. It still stings a bit to know I paid so much over market value.

A bid placed which gives you time to back out of is not considered a snipe. Its considered a reasonable, high, maximum bid.

A high bid placed 10 seconds (or less) before an auctions closes is considered a snipe.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
