Toned gold? 2008 AGE

Just received a $25 proof AGE that I purchased over the weekend (PCGS First Strike PR69). It is toned. Very nice looking piece of bullion, but I'm surprised that it has toned. Any thoughts/comments?

Not common but not rare. I have a 1995 half ounce PR70 that is beautifully toned. Remember, these are 90% gold and 10% copper. --Jerry

I like that ALOT better than a non-toned piece. Gives it character.

I agree, the toning adds character - and I like the look as well. I'm just surprised that this thing toned within 6 to 9 months.

I have 2006-W MS AGEs that toned in about a year. I too was suprised. --Jerry
