<<<I do not attach a grade to the coin as grading is very subjective and I am by no means an expert. >>> I don't believe that either being that he has 3,000 coin auctions currently up.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
Looks like he uses a template and is too lazy to customize each auction. Doesn't make for a very accurate description as the only thing nice about that one is it's nice and pitty. Is there a "Rugged" grade we could give it like Rugged -02.
Witty sig line currently under construction. Thank you for your patience.
<< <i><<<I do not attach a grade to the coin as grading is very subjective and I am by no means an expert. >>> I don't believe that either being that he has 3,000 coin auctions currently up. >>
With the feedback count, selection and sheer quantity he has up, I would say he passed novice quite some time ago.
Witty sig line currently under construction. Thank you for your patience.
I've dealt with this seller many times and I guarantee he is a man of integrity.
One example....after a few weeks of me buying some coins from him, I notified him that the coins had not arrived yet. He immediately offered to give me a full refund. I said let's wait a few more days, but thank-you anyway. Well a few days went by and the coins arrived so everything was good. But my point is he did offer to refund my money.
Also, more to the OP's point. This seller for the past 2 years, has listed about 9 pages of coins for EVERY day. He sells mainly BU and Choice BU coins. ALL others are titled 'very nice' whether or not the coin is an XF or a holed, beat-up VG. I know it's a bit annoying to see a coin like this called 'very nice', but if you listed 9 (or more) pages of coins every day, you would do the same thing too.
also....he seems to have quite a strong following on Ebay. The reason I don't buy much from him is because his coins sell for top dollar because of the amount of buyers that follow his auctions. So he must be doing something right!

<< <i>I have bought quite a few coins from this seller and had excellent experiences. Returned a coin with no questions asked.
That coin is not "very nice", but the seller is not an idiot. >>
I believe he uses a stock auction with the same wording for every coin, just changes the coin. Makes listing much easier but you lose credibility calling everything very nice. I agree with VT and segoja. -jerry
I've also purchased from this seller with no issues. Lately I've been following his Barber auctions, somehow he consistently has a large stock of nice circulated material with full rims. As others have suggested, ignore the generic boilerplate descriptions and judge by the pictures, his photos are generally good enough to detect any issues.

I also had a good transaction with this seller. I agree with others who say judge the pics and not the text. I do not believe this seller is an idiot and I do not believe this particular coin is very nice.
I've never had a transaction with this seller. But, a couple of years ago I spotted a coin that to me was an obvious counterfeit. Politely asked him to check it out further. Got an email to mind my own business and telling me I was now blocked on his site. Yeah, honest and full of integrity. Hmmmmm bob

I've bought from that guy a few times...I've often wondered where he gets his supply of hundreds of coins every single day. Look at his auction, every last coin he lists is a NICE COIN!!!!!
I, too, have purchased coins from this seller with no problems whatsoever. Unlike a majority of those that sell on ebay, his photos are good enough to tell what you're getting.
I would not no issue buying from this guy. Not sure why the OP has a problem with the guy. I know i have bought from him but not in more than a year. If he was selling what i was collecting i would probably be bidding

The seller offers good, clear pics. He clearly uses a description template, but he's got well over 100,000 feedbacks. I don't see the issue. If the pics weren't clear that's one thing, but the buyer clearly knows what he or she is getting.
Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.
If your discerning and really look through his inventory you can find some real gems. You just have to trust your own instincts and not his descriptions. I've bought three coins from this seller and all three graded out just as I expected. I was happy with the prices I paid for them.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
I have also bought a few hole fillers from this seller. You need to be comfortable purchasing raw.
This seller generally provides good pictures so you can tell what you are getting moreso than many other eBayers.
However, his volume is very high and he misses focus on some of the pictures. These coins are generally damaged in some way, so if there is any focus problems, I will pass.
But on the auctions I have bid and won, I have absolutely no complaints. I've had communications with this person. He's honest. I'd buy without hesitation.
Just not that auction listed in the OP. That's a coin that I would not purchase.

Seller is easy to do business with. Although I have had to return items with undisclosed problems. One, an 1807 small stars CBH that had graffiti; the other a 1794 FH half but of questionable authenticity. I asked if I could remove from stapled flip to aid in authentication but he declined to permit. The 1794 was prob legit. She had strong EF details but was cleaned.
Prethen, you really need to stop looking at his auctions cause for some strange reason he just rubs you the wrong way. I buy from him quite a lot. He always lets me combine shipping and is one of the fastest shippers on Ebay. If it wasn't for him I would be having a very diffecult time right now putting together my latest project. He has the lion's share of the material I'm looking for....
I, too, have purchased coins from this seller without any problems.
While I don't agree with his sales tactics (specifically, overstating things), he does give good customer service and his pictures are farily accurate.

Hmmm, so those that HAVE bought from him, on the board and on ebay, have liked the transactions and had no problems. A few that have NOT had transactions with him are mouthing about "honest" and "integrity" and "powerseller"......
I've boughten from him, about 5-6 years ago. No problems at all.
As has been said, looks like a canned template and he likely doesn't do it all himself (way too many to do for 1 person, imho) but the pics aren't bad at all and if there are problems, would he stand behind them? I think it is likely "Yes"

Guys, I'm just pointing out that his sales tactics suck. I don't care if his coins are the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's moronic titles and descriptions like this that lure the not-so-knowledgable to buy crap. If he had any integrity at all he'd actually read his auction listing in preview mode before posting it.
This seller doesn't obviously care how he lures the next sucker.
i also have bought from him...at least 2 or 3 years ago. no problems. the coin in the OP obviously is pitted very bad. his generic template did not fit this one listing.

ive had nothing but good service, experience, and coins from this guy. his pictures are clear enough that "even an idiot" can see what he/she is buyiing. too many people are more worried about "what could happen to somebody" why not worry about your own transactions ? to call this guy an idiot or a moron because you dont like what he listed for sale is a shame on your part.
Though I've not bought from him, I'm with the "A picture is worth a thousand words" and the "Live and let live" camp.
I also agree with Frank that there are literally thousands of items on the 'Bay that I've no interest in buying, but I don't need to come here and point them out to you all.
Any coin newbie that would buy that coin as "very nice" without taking into account the photographic evidence of its' "not so niceness" probably deserves the lesson. A $0.99 opening bid should also help the newbie avoid being massively taken.

I also have purchased nice coins from this guy. Most of the stuff he sells IS "nice" for the grade. I posted a thread once on another dog of a coin he described as "nice" in his boilerplate auction description, but pointed out he is a good dealer on EBay.
You're going way overboard in ripping this guy. He isn't "luring in the not-so-knowledgeable" with one or two dog coins. He generally sells nice coins and provides excellent photos for buyers to determine the grade and quality. He provides decent photos here as well. Anybody that thinks that coin is nice because the description says it is is a moron and hopeless to begin with.
The seller is successful for a reason. He gets a lot of collectible coins to market. While I agree that some coins just don't seem to make sense , it's interesting that they often do make cents. So with that, I'm reminded of the saying :
".. it doesn't matter if they talk bad or good about you, so long as they talk about you "
I've bought dozens of BU Morgans from this seller over the past year. I believe he has grown extremely fast, and overlooked the title in this auction. The Title doesn't match the coin is all.
All my transactions have been great. But, I still do due diligence on every buyer of each coin even from this seller. Things change over time on the bay.
