1795 Draped Bust Dollar

I have the opportunity to purchase this coin, but unable to hold in hand prior to purchase. I have matched to PCGS photos and it looks exact, but the weight is unknown. Would one of you dollar experts take a look to see if you can verify authenticity. The original owner obtained during WWII years and has now passed to his son who is willing to part with the coin.
Thanks!

Thanks!

Second, the coin in question looks to have been cleaned at one point and toned over, "over the years".
Third, the grade of this coin, if authentic, looks to be in the upper AU range with lot's of luster left.
Fourth, give me a minute to ID the variety to provide some added support for authenticity.
I would suggest that you offer to send the coin into ANACS, NCS, or PCGS (for genuine service), before you purchase the coin outright.

I believe it is the same variety, plus the example I am showing shows similar grade and strike qualities.
I am still skeptical of the authenticity of your coin just because it seemed to come from nowhere and it's such a high grade piece.
touching the star.. while the coin in the OP is not even close from
what i can see.

I see what you mean. As far as I can tell, it's close, and I am not saying that it is a definitive match.
I'm only trying to prove the coin is genuine by providing the closest example for the variety I can find.
<< <i>Also looks polished/cleaned >>
And the color definitely doesn't look natural - it looks digested!

The artificial toning looks horrid.
nicely along the dentils.. just a bit away.. going along the edge...
very strange that. never saw that on a coin of this date before...
but i am a rookie.

I saw that too, and I think you are on to something. It's the largest point I have regarding its authenticity.
<< <i>the nose doesn't look right >>
yes. i totally agree comparing it to the other pic.
I have emailed for additional photos and pics of the Edge Lettering. I do not believe it is real, but IF it is I would like to purchase th coin. I spoke with the owner and googled his house from the street perspective...all looks OK. I also felt that this coin is in too good of condition to have gone unknown for this long, but he assures me (with kids cutting up in the background) his Dad otained the coin circa 1943 and has held it all this time. The coin recently passed to him due to his fathers death and he apparently has a bunch of IHC's he doesn't know what to do with. He is sending me a list of all the coins his father left him. He is not interested in holding the coins and wishes to sell all of them.
