I wonder what she looked like before she was dipped. image

I like it a lot. Since it's in a rattler, if it was dipped,
it was done in the late '80s, and must have been
rinsed very well not to have turned ugly since then.

being it's not a broadstruck quarta (darn au58's that should be 64's)

i'm sticking to a 65...stronger strike and it'd be upthere as that's one very clean of ticks n nicks quarta

    Interesting.
The other day I purchased a Lincoln cent that I inspected at a B&M under an Ott at 5X.
Got it home and put it under my desk lamp and what do you know I saw carbon spots I couldn't observe with the Ott light.
BTW, I like your newp SUMORADA. I can't grade SLQs. How much?

Nope totally washes out the coins... and you need to re-compensate by bumping the saturation levels up in photoshop to get back to how the coin looks in hand.

I've already seen the grade (ms64) but I would have guessed ms65.

I would respectfully suggest that an OTT light will not wash out colors -- provided you properly set your white balance at the time of the capture....Mike

p.s. very nice coin, Sumorada! The coin is VERY well struck for the issue, and the lack of a completely full head makes the coin far more affordable. Also, that coin looks really, really clean for a 64. Good pickup!

  • Heh, that coin looks familiar:
