1883-0 Cameo DMPL, dial ups don't bother! Many pics!

Picked up this coin in Long Beach and am still working on getting the full image shots right. That will happen later but thought i would share what i had. i think the close-ups with the cameo devices look very cool. I just wish photobucket didn't lose detail, but oh well.

a few weeks ago i was helping the local dealer and towards the end of the show a collector came by with a few raw $10 Gold pcs. and a nice 1883-O, MS65 quality with a DMPL obverse and a weakly frosted reverse. my pal offered to the guy who said he'd check a few other dealers and come back, but we packed and left before he returned(if noone else bought the coins). i was hoping to buy it, the coin was a gem.
I wish that the US Mint would make "collector" coins in the same method that they made these Morgan's!
What I mean by that is that with modern coinage, the design elements seem blend into the field but with the Morgans, each letter and element appears to have been "affixed" to the coin. Almost as if they were glued on. There is a definite start to the element and a definite start to the field.
I guess there is a certain crispness about the designs which makes them desireable!
The name is LEE!
<< <i>Yes like the others said nice looking coin.....but for me sometimes too close is too close. >>
I know what you mean, these are freaky close and totally uncropped. Photobucket shrinks them from being full screen.
