What is a collector to do in view of the economy?

First of all take a deep breath and exhale slowly.
If your collection is quality for the grade, and you
have pruned it carefully over the past few years,
then you are OK. Sure prices may fall in the coming
year or two, but quality coins will always be in short
supply. Quality coins will always come back and even
exceed their prior high point. Thus, relax, in the
event of a serious down turn in the coin market, put your
collection in a nice safe place and bid your time. Tighten up
your standards when you buy a coin. Serious price drops are
really good times to buy better quality coins for less money. The
sun will rise tomorrow and even the birds will chirp at sunrise.
We have had cycles in the coin market in the past and will have many
more in the future. There is not much you can do about it, so just
be careful about what you buy and what you pay, from here on out.

If you are a collector, just use the times to buy
coins on the cheap.
If you are a dealer, or a flipper, it may be more
of a problem.

It can see me?!?
How? My shades are drawn.
I'd better be good!
True collectors never care what they paid or what it's worth.
......uhhh and that quote is not attributable to me.

Collect.
Having a good look into short selling (and WHO is doing it) may rally the equity market in a Huge way.
I do worry though, that the coin market may see a lot of quick selling from some who are ready to get back in at a market bottom and need funds fast.
If you see a lot LOT of investment quality coins hit the auctions soon, that is whats happening.
There are some key dates I'll be needing soon.
I'm still collecting and will continue to do so.

Just did and L's reports are getting better with each show... nothing shocking as the market has been in an expected correction phase since mid 2006.
If you've been playing in the market since don't get your panties in a bunch just yet!
