Old dimes just laying around like dandelions....

in your lawn. What the heck is this about?? A few years ago I was working in western Colorado and decided to
see if there were any "treasures" to look for. Hmmmmm, in my research I find that a keg of dimes (5000) was
lost off a freight wagon when a wheel broke. Well, lo and behold the keg rolled several yards from the road
and off into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison! Yep, all the way to the bottom and scattered the new dimes
to all hell and gone along the bottom. I did some exploring to find the original wagon trails in that area and sure
enough one goes right along the northern edge and what I saw it could have been plausible. Now, that part of
the canyon was impossible for me to decend to the bottom to do the search. Need to learn how to
rapel (sp). So, now that the weather is getting a bit cooler perhaps someone here on the board would like
to follow up. My only fee is one little dime from that lost keg.

Now post you lost coin(s), robberies, etc stories. Have you searched?? Is the loot still out there?

It was a very steep climb, I do remember that much and I didn't catch any fish either, which is why we went down there in the first place.
