Jack Lee passed away

I did not know him personally but knew his reputation for high end Morgans. Apparently, he came down with pneumonia after the ANA and passed away this morning. My condolences to his family.

Wish the best to his family.
Even though both of us knew it would be tough for me to find anything in his case that I could afford, he was always helpful and polite. The first $100,000+ Morgan I ever held was one of his. The first MS69 Morgan I ever held was one of his. The first Branch Mint proof Morgan I ever held was one of his.
Thank you Jack, and rest in peace.
My condolences to family and friends.

I am very sad.
In memory of Jack Lee: He was an MS-70 man all the way. He was even better than his coins! Such a humble man too. He was so honest that his memory wasn't perfect after his stroke of about 6 years ago.
A real gentleman to all people and a connoiseur of morgan dollars and a great eye for coins.

I got to know Jack the last 7-8 years and he was a pleasue to see and talk to at every show....always smiling and talking to everyone that passed by. He aways had time to talk coins and share stories from years past. A dear, sweet man that always took the time needed for anyone who walked up to his table......this hobby/community will miss Jack Lee.
Thanks Jack for taking the time to share some of your knowledge, kindness, and heartfelt stories.......you'll be missed my friend. Rest in peace.....

Surely not since he was logged in at 10:59 AM Pacific time this morning.
Jack and Lee being two fairly common names just wanting to make sure that I have this correct.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
<< <i>Jack Lee as in Wolf359?

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
I knew Jack to a good extent and it wasn't that long ago that a good friend of mine and myself had memorable dinner with him. It is always rare to find a person who is a distinguished gentleman, friendly, humorous, dedicated, and had a razor-sharp business acumen, all traits that Jack proudly possessed. I will forever remember everything that Jack has taught me over the years.

Jack was one of the elder Statesman of numismatics and had two of the best eyes for quality in the world of coins. I always had admiration for the DMPL set he put together and how he knew so much about Vams. He was true collector and enjoyed this hobby to the end, he will be truly missed.
In remembrance of Jack, here is one of his coins that helped in building the Key West Collection.

WOW that was a very sweet sounding 93 S he owned.
Never actually looked through the top Morgan Dollars Basic Set, Circulation Strikes (1878-1921) registry sets.

I'm sorry I didn't know the brother. Rest in peace.
<< <i>I never met Mr. Lee but I sure knew the name. What a sad, sad shame. Though it has nothing to do with the loss felt by his family, friends, and numismatics, does anyone know his approximate age? >>
early eighties maybe
