Better late then never, I suppose. However, none of his coins received the "First Strike" designation.

Laying in my hotel room here in Alantic City getting ready for a 9am Holdem tournamemt in the morning I thought I would respond to the thread. I still have two boxes of 10 that is first strike eligible but I will not send in. BTW I have over 40 sets of the 20th 2006 ASE"'s all 70's. I have 3 by Pcgs I have 27 sets NGC and 10 sets ICG. I crossed 3 sets from ICG to PCGS and crossed 12 sets from ICG to NGC. DId very well. Wish me luck fellows I need some Moola. Going for $50k but will walk away with $1,200 even if I lose first round.image

First strike is over-stated. Certainly more hype than is warranted. I tend to guffaw at such nonsense. 68-69 is just as good. But a dealer will certainly sell you otherwise.

First strike 70 will turn in the slab. Just look at any other eagle @ 70. Resubmit and you will see. It is negotiable. As always.

At least have them graded. They may spot in the unopened boxes. Sets are now in the mid $300's for 69's. A PCGS nonFS 70/70/MS 69 are only going for $800 range quite a drop.

I still have my unopenned box of ten sets. Anyone know what they are currently worth?

FS may be overstated, until it's time to sell. Just try to sell a non FS 68 & see what your results will bring ....

I was sitting on 3 sealed case at end of June.
    Had 15 cases originally.
Sold a bunch during the rush and then just got side tracked.
What pushed me to submit was the end of bulk submissions by club members.
    I expect I wasn't alone.
If populations jumped in July it was likely driven by people like myself.
    On a side note I was pleased with grades..............Got A MS70.

I sold most of mine when the going was hot ... that series, 20th Anniv., has dropped in value considerably in the last year or so. Most of the coins in the ASE sets have dropped by more than 50% and still have not bottomed out.

I got out with these along time ago, back when the RP non FS 70's alone were hitting $1,000 a piece, I just couldn't justify hanging on to them with the possibility of spots which actually did develop with a few 69's that I had, if memory serves correct the raw sets hit a high last year may at or around 600 and have now slipped into bargin territory for under $200.00 from today, I would have grabbed all 3 sets but got called into a darn conference...link from todays bargin raw ASE sets

Well doing pretty good so far I am 8 out of the last 15 players, already had 2 cuts and now it's lunch time here, get a small nap. Start again at 6pm. Again not doing so bad.

To answer your ? of First Strike rules at PCGS, I really don't know. I am thinking the value of my coins staying sealed in the original boxes for many years to come. Again I have alot of graded 70 sets so I guess there is no hurry. Back to my food.

I see them on Ebay going between $100-$190. Almost back to issue price.
