Cracked out IHC Pleasent Suprise Guess the Grade

I do not collect IHC but when i saw this on E-Bay something said to buy it. I purchased it for almost nothing. I had six free submissions from NGC so i decided to send this in because i had nothing to lose. Arrived in the mail today.

Nice coin, Congratulations!
How much price difference is there for that one? I'm thinking it isn't that big but could be wrong.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
If not, then i've got an IHC to send in too!
A very interesting post . . .

i agree. i would expect a proof to have a better strike.
looks like a business strike to me.
where is eagleeye???
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
The lettering (ONE CENT) looks rounded, the hits (date) look typical of a circulation-struck coin, the strike looks average at best for a circulation strike, and the denticles are typical of a business strike . . . obviously not up to standard for a proof striking. The fields do not show any evidence of mirror finish typical of a proof, but yes, perhaps the pix are masking it???
But . . . I am a hacker and NGC guys do this for a living. I'm wondering if I should send in all my 1879-1909 RBs to NGC to see if I might be mistaking their designation???
I think this will be the "Thread of the Night" . . . and I'll be watching to see if Rick chimes in . . .
