Confirmation That E-Bay was Notified of Violations

Good day,
This is a followup of my Thread started yesterday about my auctions being pulled. Please read that thread before continuing with this.
I was informed by E-Bay that my Auctions were pulled yesterday due to information of violations that was reported to them late yesterday afternoon. They will not disclose to me who reported the violations. There is no other option than that this was done by somebody from these boards.
Lets see if the piece of #$$#$ has the conojes to come out like a Man and fess up. I sincerly doubt it and to who ever it is, make certain of one thing, you don't come out today and take it like a man, don't ever, and I mean ever, let me find out who you are down the road. Period!!!!!

E-Bay pulled over 90 auctions for the following individual and multiple violations......I swear it was like talking to the Twighlight Zone!!!!!! The reasons and the verbage are for the most part just ludicrous, but I will attempt to list them.

1. About 10 were pulled for accepting Cash, even though most auctions mentioned this, they only chose to use this for the reason for about 10 of them. I knew in the back of my mind about this, but have been doing it for going on 10 years...So WTF!!!! My fault...I can live with it!
2. As a Joke, all of my auctions have said that I accept Gold Bullion and Diamonds with appraisal, for once again over 5 years. I have had more Buyers who get the joke, tell me it was humerous, than you could shake a stick at. Anyway that was the excuse for another 10 or so removed.
3. Another reason for removal (About 20 each) was using the Verbage in the Title "Like Brand New", I am informed I cannot use the Word "Like" in a Title Ever, "New" in the Title Ever (Unless it is a Card from 2008), and Never, Ever, use the words "Like" and "New" in the same Title!!!!!image
Oh and it gets better!!!
4. This one is still a little confusing but I will try to explain, this is the reason given for the rest of the 50+ that were removed.
In my auctions at the bottom I have used the following sentence for 5+ years now:

"Please view my other auctions I have numerous PSA cards listed now. If you don't see it listed now, I will have hundreds listed over the next few weeks, including numerous PSA and SGC grded cards."
Even with the misspell on graded (Just noticed)

So anyway as it was explained to me: I cannot ever mention SGC and PSA together, Ever!!!, I can never mention SGC if the card for sale in the title is PSA, I can never mention PSA if the card in the Title is SGC, I can not use either one in the body of the listing if the card is Raw for sale. I cannot mention my other auctions with PSA cards for sale, I cannot mention my other auctions with SGC cards for sale. The only thing basically I can say is Please check out my other listings or Check out my Store...Period!!!!!
I am just totally floored. As somebody mentioned, they have the time to get this Nitpicky with me and yet who knows how many Fake Mantles they are facilitating changing hands every day!!!!!

The clown I talked to was a complete jerk, would not bump me up to a supervisor, had no customer service skills, and no acknowledement, even when told, of My 10 years+ on E-Bay, Over 5000 transactions, 2800 positive %100 Feedback. No friendly understanding of the problem, even with the $20K, Silver PowerSeller status (Which doesn't mean Diddly) sales over the last two months and all the fees that E-bay got out of that...Just nothing!!!!!!!!! His only answer was to repeatly tell me technically (His Word) I was in violation of E-Bay policy.

The only Silver lining is that for some reason all of my listings were credited back the original Listing fees when removed. Just out time and money that the auctions had almost sold for.

Once again I pray for the day when Fee-Bay gets their's"
Neil

I was bored and drunk...I become a maniacal eBay patroller when I get that way.

    Sorry.

Sorry this happened to you, however what would happen if a person was selling 2 cards in an auction one PSA
and one SGC? Could they mention them both?

    Good for you.

WOW!!! I read the original thread and I too would be pissed if this happens. I am getting sick and tired of Ebay's vague rules. You're right about them being nitpicky. They should do some real policing of the auctions and not worry about this stuff.
In any event I hope you find who reported you.

    Good Luck.

You've been selling for five years... Was there a poster here that you had a run-in with in the recent past?
  • Wasn't me. I sent a PM with a couple of suggestions for your store.

    Neil....
Of course they're not going to tell you who reported it. Why should or would they? If I was investigating something involving ebay at work, I'm positive I'd need a subpoena to get anything out of them.

you're really wasting too much of your time and energy on this. Do whatever they want and move on. IF it was someone here you are only making the entire thing more entertaining to them.

  • Good day,
I know it wasn't you Ping. I have an idea who it was, and no I won't publicly tell!!!! Or by PM!!! Just wish the pond scum had a life and could stay out of other people's business that doesn't belong the him!!!

That definitely stinks Neil, but for every 1 member that posts here, there are probably 50 more that read these boards as a non member or non poster. Do not be soured on our small community here just because of some nameless clown that probably just reads these boards without even signing up.

How do you know it was someone from here? Any chance that Ebay has an automated query setup to check everyone’s listing for these violations. The query would only take about 10 minutes to write.

I had "ebay" take down one of my auctions two days ago - like 5 minutes after I listed it because in the title I had bgs and PSA - but it went into my unsold folder - I revised it and listed it again - nothing really lost...but you lost all of the auctions?...that doesnt seem right to me...

Ive had auctions pulled when they went to the new $1 minimum listings (It may have been store listings). Of course their reason was that I was trying to circumvent ebay fees. (Honestly, with all the fees, WHO ISN'T???)

But the point that they have all these scams going on and do nothing and then pull auctions for ridiculous things is absolutley horrible. One day, ebay and paypal will get whats coming to them. The will be like blockbuster who used to gouge you on late fees and such and pretty much tell you that if you didnt like it, go rent somewhere else. Now, with Netflix and new companies like that, Blockbuster is dying a slow death. Ebay will be the same one day.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

He knows because he wrote this: "I was informed by E-Bay that my Auctions were pulled yesterday due to information of violations that was reported to them late yesterday afternoon. They will not disclose to me who reported the violations."

It seems pretty obvious to me that someone read Neil's other thread, read Storm's comments about how the listings violated some eBay rules, and then went straight to eBay like a jealous child.

What irks me is that all these auctions get pulled, but the $12,500 Mickey Mantle PSA 5 that is clearly a scam, goes all the way to completion this week.

Seems like something he'd do, especially if he thinks you're an alt of Gary.
  • what if im selling a complete set with BOTH SGC and PSA holdered cards....
  • Boba,
Didn't specifically ask that question, by that time I had scribbled down 15 or 20 don'ts from this clown and was so flabergasted I was just like whatever!! I am sure that if you were to call E-bay you would get a different answer then I got on some items. I got the distinct impression while I was talking to this guy at E-Bay that he was looking at my listings and making up reason's they were pulled as he went along and even called him on something, (Don't remember the specific now), but he back pedaled and said on second look that was OK. As I said previously and will clarify: "E-Bay told me in answer to my question, they fielded a complaint on my E-Bay Auctions yesterday afternoon. Towit: I was violating E-Bay listing Policy. No, we will not tell you who made the complaint "(Never expected to get that info).
And as previously stated: Someday E-Bay will get theirs....I Like the Blockbuster Analogy!!! For now I will bite the bullet, bow my head and play along as what else can you do in a Gigantic Monopolistic situation!!!! Think Ma Bell back in the 60's and 70's, the day will come!!!

Ebay doesn't have to make sense who is going to police them? Your right about how it makes no sense fake Mantles and Ruths can make it to completed but someone puts "please see my other graded SGC and PSA cards" in their auctions and it gets killed. How is that protecting anyone??????????????? He actually has those cards for gods sake.

Whoever pulled that carp has things to answer for. In the
meantime, a Primary Gypsy Curse has been placed on him
and his close associates. He can expect the worst.

HUNDREDS of people read these boards. MOST are not
members/posters. Even with the help of a friendly moderator,
all we could find out is which IP#s viewed the initial post
during the relevant time periods. There can be no Columbo
    solution here.

    ............

Noting the violations publicly is on me. I never would have
done that on an EBAY board; the results would be predictable,
and identical to those we found here. I thought is was "safe"
    here; it's not.

    ............

Currently, EBAY is VERY serious about culling the herd. Small,
Medium and LARGE sellers are being targeted. KNOWING the
rules and following them is NOW more important than ever.

"Policy Violation Strikes" - like the one(s) NOW placed against
Duty - have a major role in EBAY's financial survival. Such strikes
can result in forcing the use of PayPal and the placing of 21-day
holds on receipts. These strikes also affect search placement.

    ..........

Again, I apologize to Duty for ANY role that my "requested" comments
    played in this fiasco.

Not your fault, end of story. But you could make it up by answering in a PM the questions I asked of you to your initial answer to the original thread asking for help.

  • There are a ton of "PSA 9 = SGC 96" and the like in titles on eBay. They are saying it's against policy?

I had some highly sought after gaming systems I sold on eBay the month leading up to Christmas get pulled after the auction ended and I had already been paid via Paypal.

All because I had used a similar layout to someone else's auction. eBay cost themselves $140 in fees by cancelling and deleting these auctions.

Welcome to the club! Not a huge deal that they pulled them, but whoever the turd was who reported ya, congrats on having such a nice and fulfilling life that this is what gets ya off.

About 90% of such reports are estimated to come from competitors.
(It is REALLY bad in fashion and electronics.)

The rest come from message board psychos who don't like what
somebody says and retailiate by reporting violations.

The stuff is KWS, but it is also informative.

I would not write that kind of stuff in a title, BUT I would never report it.

Considering all the animosity that's usually directed at the grading company, I'm surprised all the "BGS BCCG" sellers haven't had their listings pulled.
  • Good ady,
All the examples of using the PSA = SGC ect. just goes to show you that some clown had to turn me in to get his kicks before E-bay would act on that kind of stuff. I see auctions with that verbage usuage every day, as I had been doing for over 5 years.

"...before E-bay would act on that kind of stuff..."

    ////////////////////////

The chances that EBAY's bots catch anything at all is SUPER slim.

EBAY, according to their public filings, spends about $20M per year
    on "security," (T&S)

If your business had net revenues of $8M, and you wanted to spend
the same pro-rata share on security that EBAY spends, your annual
security bil would be just under $20K. That is not even enough to
    buy ONE renta-cop.

Security at Safeway has labeled EBAY as the largest "fence of stolen
property in the history of the world." In terms of diluted earnings,
Safeway may well be the largest victim of the RICO-Enterprise; they
lose FAR more than ALL of the fantasy-losses claimed by the aggregated
"designer fashion manufacturers." HomeDepot is also a prime victim.

When Safeway wants to see what they have lost in any given week,
the search EBAY for Similac, Enfamil, Prilosec, and Pampers. EBAY says,
"How do we know it's yours?" Safeway says, "WTH, we'll just raise
the retail price of EVERYTHING to cover our losses."

EBAY is a parasite on the entire economy. The sooner they are driven
out of business, the better for everybody.

    ///////////////////////////

    Of course it is.

BUT, reporting that kind of stuff does nothing to make EBAY "safer."
    If EBAY wants to pay me BIG money to clean-up their site, I am in;
I am not interested in doing THEIR job for free.

(Yes, I know whose account that is. And, I still ain't reporting it.)

I would sometimes list an old camaro or corvette that needed total restoration as a parts car, and every once in a while they would kill an auction with a few hours left.

I would look at perfectly good camaros in the parts section at the same time.

Ebay almost never finds problems on their own. I agree with Neil that somebody probably turned him in. Maybe somebody here, more likely it was his competition.

    My 2 cents:

Some idiot reported one of those violations mentioned (i.e., like putting SCG & PSA together, etc.).

And then, just maybe, an over-zealous ebay grunt employee, not only 86ed a few listings, but spent the time to "conger-up" those other silly violations.

It all sucks! I've had listings pulled by having 1/1 in the title, and I was pissed, and wondered why someone would take the time to report me (for correctly illustrating the correct PSA population of a grade of a PSA item).

But the reasons your listings were pulled? That's even worse!

ebay, stop biting the hands that feed you.
