I just completed a Dansco album of Ikes. In celebration, I took pictures and gridded them out for your viewing pleasure...32 coins in all

Mostly from uncirculated mint sets and proof sets.

Identical lighting and image processing on every photo.

I'm two nickels away from a complete album of Jefferson Nickels, most of them nice lustery MS with an original tone, but some different ones here and there to mix it up.

That is going to be quite a task to photograph, process and grid out! Lots o' nickels. I hope I don't complete the Lincoln set!

Now that you are so close you might as well start imaging before the last two come. image

The 74-S BS is simply awesome
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    Lee,

As you know, I like Ike's too! But I'm stumped. What does "BS" image mean in the "74-S BS" response above?

    Adam,
Congragulations on completing your Ike Dansco, anytime you complete an album it is a great accomplishment.

Heres a big picture of that colorful 74S proof:

By 1974 "BS", do you mean the really frosty one in the middle?

These were fun to collect; it took very little time. Readily available. Surprises await! I like Ike!

Common Adam, that is still dinky, my screen is 1920 pixels wide. image
  • adamlaneusadamlaneus Posts: 6,969 ✭✭✭
Here's a large cropped image, but not resized; these pixels are the resolution i'm getting off of the sensor.

As you can see, the full Ike would be huge.

I should print this out and see what it looks like on a 13x13 inch piece of photo paper.

    Very nice.

if you want to try something cool with the frosted proof. Try pointing your light source at the ceiling and do a long shutter. You really get to see the detail of the metal and still get the black fields.

Here some examples from when I was taking quick experimental shots of SKYMAN's coins:

These were in dinged up slabs, much easier RAW or with nice polished slabs.
