Nice job. You took a little gamble on those seller's photos. It looks absolutely flat with no luster. Not a bad score.

  • Definitely a gamble based on the seller's pics. I've bought Classic Commems with pics like that. Sometimes they turn out all right, sometimes they end up being cleaned or even lightly circulated!

    Congrats!

Looks like your are a true gambler. This time you most definitely won. I would not even have placed a bid on this one. Good for you!

For the price paid it's not really a gamble and the seller has good feedback and return policy.

I also screen any of my coins I send in.

It was a pleasant surprise though, I was worried about the hits on the reverse.

    Thanks for all the comments.

To tell you the truth, I'm surprised it got a 65 with the hits on the mast. I've looked at a lot of these and almost invariably, hits on the mast precluded a 65 grade. It seems this issue is more technically graded by both PCGS and NGC than other coins. I've seen butt ugly, darkly toned Pilgrims with clean surfaces in 65 holders and gorgeous, lustrous Pilgrims with a couple hits on the mast slabbed as 63. Go figure.
