Why "one box"?
And what is your definition of "monster" coin(s)?
There are many different personal definitions of "monster" coin(s) and who can say one definition is better than the other.
The concept of "one box" [regardless of how big or small the box is (aka how many coins you have in your one box)] conveys the idea of you setting a limit on the number of coins you have; and it further conveys the idea that putting your resources into a specific number of coins enables you focus on quality (having the best) instead of quantity (having the most).
Do you prefer having the best (that you can afford) or having the most?
Your thoughts please.

It's all a matter of perspective
<< <i>Why "one box"? Because two boxes is a hell of a lot more money than I have!
And what is your definition of "monster" coin(s)? A true rarity that is very PQ or very pretty for the grade.
There are many different personal definitions of "monster" coin(s) and who can say one definition is better than the other. No one/everyone. It's totallt subjective.

This is basically right except that you're not really "setting a limit" because you never know when a once-in-a-lifetime coin comes along. I've seen FOUR in two years and the next time one is seen will likely be when I sell them!
Do you prefer having the best (that you can afford) or having the most? You know the answer.

<< <i>I haven't even read SGs other thread in detail so I'm not picking on him. But one oft-overlooked symptom of OCD is the belief that all others should WANT to do all things the same way you do them. Another is that and OCDer tends to read all advice as specifying the ONLY way a task can be accomplished. --Jerry >>
This is NOT applicable to any of my posts. I stated numerous times in the thread that whatever path you chose just take your time and buy good coins as they show up. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything other than racing because of a registry ranking is suicidal.
Respectfully brief. Saint Curlis.
Now that is funny

My second thought is pretty much what SG said. Wait for the nice stuff and get it as it becomes available. I have no set limit for number coins. They don't come as often but I am much more satisfied with each purchase by following this.
<< <i>To me, a "box of monsters" is a box of 10 to 20 jaw dropping coins. Super high end, super rare, and/or super cool. >>
That's a super definition.

You haven't seen my coins.
No. I prefer having the best and the most. Meaning that I never compromise on quality, and I'll buy as much as I can handle.
