More modern Toned crap :)

I picked this up a couple weeks ago from Peacoc*coinz, and I love it. I don't think I've ever seen an ASE tone like this, or any other coin for that matter. All the overlapping colors and lines, I think it's a BEAUT!! I showed it to a fellow coin collector today, and his thoughts (out loud), "What a piece of crap!!!". I just laughed. image

Anyone know how a coin can tone in this manner, or have similar coins? And thanks again to Peacoc*coinzimage

  • Reminds me of end-roll toned Morgan Dollars, but that can't be. Very interesting.

I think it is funny you have to edit the sellers name to post it here...image

    paperwrapped and folded.
Wouldn't be hard to do, in the right environment

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Some kind of crazy EOR-like toner. One of the most uniquely toned ASEs I've ever seen! Really nice pickup and I think that one went sort of cheap.

Agreed.....not an end roller but wrapping it in paper would produce the toning with straight lines....as you can see on the ASE

Yes, I was hoping the bids wouldn't go crazy on it. Happy they didn'timage

sigh. AT. it is simulating end roll toning. some type of material, probably
paper, was placed over it and the resulting pattern you see today.

i do not care for it.. and i am going to wonder now if peacoc made
this coin himself or bought it from someone who was playing around.

slabbed to boot. i hope you did not pay much for it.
