40% Silver or Clad Eisenhower Dollar

If you have a 1974-S Eisenhower Dollar, then how can you tell if it's silver or clad?

Thanks,

Chris

look at the edge. Silver will be whitish, clad will be copper.

The other way is to lay a paper towel over the coin. if I recall correctly a silver one will show the cameo and the clad will not.

Look at the edge. If the edge is silver in color, then it is silver. By surfaces, the silver coins tend to have some tarnish on it and the luster is different than that of a clad.
  • The silver version should weigh 24.59 grams, the other one should weigh 22.68 grams.
