Stunning....but the image doesn't make the coin appear 67....probably looks better in hand but I would take it regardless!!!

Several years ago I sold an 1890 in a PCGS 66 slab. Virtually perfect surfaces. The small production of quarters for circulation during this period produced some magnificent coins with few showing suppressed detail due to die wear.

...and many were P/L which just lights up the toning on many examples.

IIRC i saw this coin in hand at the Central States show in Chicago. I was looking at their 1871 seated dollar (one tiny scratch from being in our set

) and this monster pulled my attention from that coin. I loved the coin in hand (nicer than the photos!) but I couldn't see it going higher than 66, probably 65 technically but the luster and toning made it a 66 imho. It was definately a purdy one!

Apparently some light chatter in the right obv field. Could still be a MS67 and certainly no less than a very strong 66 imo. It's not 1989 any more where this coin might have been a 65+ to lower end 66.

Just try to find a real nice 64 and save a ton on money.
