Golden Eye for the Nintendo 64. It was the game that got me into FPS. Halo 3 is the game that I play the most now. My user name is cwazzy if anyone wants to play.

Of all time??? I've never heard of these games! You guys must be really young if you're not mentioning Mike Tyson's Punchout or Super Mario Brothers. Galaga would be up there if you wanna include arcade games.
CLASSIC 1.) Zelda 2 2.) R.B.I. Baseball 3.) Mike Tyson's Punch Out 4.) Zelda 1 5.) Super Mario Bros 2
RECENT Grand Theft Auto 3
I liked Vice City a lot and I didn't like San Andreas (too much going on - overkill) but GTA 4 has found the right balance. The story is amazing
Guitar Hero
I just picked up Aerosmith and didn't fail once in the career Expert mode until the final song. The game was too easy. I still can't beat the Slayer song on Guitar Hero 3. It's just that and Metallica's One and I would be finished with that forever
You guys are into guitar hero and rock band??? Just learn to play guitar!!!! Honestly, until a few weeks ago, I had no idea that adults played that game. There was a tournament here at work. People knew I played guitar and kept asking me why wasnt i playing Guitar Hero??? Because after all, it's the exact same thing.
When I was a kid, I couldn't get enough of the Ultima games on my Apple IIc and the Phantasy Star games on my Sega Genesis.
In high school, Doom 1 and any other warez I could pir8 from BBS's got played a lot.
In college, I minored in Duke Nukem 3d, Warcraft 2, Diablo 1, and Fallout.
As a grown-up kid, I've enjoyed RPG type games like Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Morrowind, Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights, etc, as well as 1st person shooters like Halflife 1 & 2, Quake 4, Unreal Tournament, Splinter Cell, etc.

It's not the same thing. Adults know the difference. I have a real guitar and bass, but don't have the patience to learn them at the moment. I dabble--I have Guitar Port, but with two young kids, it's impossible to put the mental energy into learning.
The games are for fun, and it's no different than karaoke for singing--you're just playing a plastic instrument.
It's fun, but I can see how it's an affront to real players.

You're right it's not the same thing so why belittle someone who loves music and loves the guitar but just doesn't have the gift to play the real thing at a satisfying level?? I've dabbled in guitar since I was probably 16 and realized 20 years later that you either have the gift or you don't. Sure I can make some decent noise but I will never be as good as I need to be to make me happy. So games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band are a nice little fantasy into something I would love to be but never will be. A great guitar player. I'm sorry if that's too low-brow for someone of your gifted nature.

I'm not offended. His blind blasting of the game is the same as someone who thinks these games are real.
If you REALLY want to look at these guitar games objectively, you'll realize that they CAN assist you to learn to play a real instrument...
1. They can teach up/down strumming 2. They can help you develop/understand timing/rhythm 3. They can aid with finger dexterity and independence
But the game won't TEACH you how to play. To learn to play a real instrument, you have to practice and play the real instrument.
I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone. If you enjoy playing, by all means play. I can certainly see the point both of you made. It just kind of annoys me that alot of people really do genuinely think that Guitar Hero is the same as really playing.
One thing that I love about Guitar Hero is that because of it, alot of young kids now know some awesome old-school rock songs.
Hard to pick just one. I guess I'd have to say Final Fantasy 7 for Playstation. That game was so epic it came on four disks.
I'm more of a fan of series....Call Of Duty, Final Fantasy, Splinter Cell, Medal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, and Golden Sun are my favorites
Favorite current game is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

That's cool dude. No offense taken. And trust me I played around with a real guitar for many years and it's nowhere close to being the same but it's fun. As I said I love music and it's as close as I will ever get to being any good. If you can play the real thing and do it well then God bless!
What is the deal with a small handful of people on this board and IWDMBII? I remember seeing a guy say that over and over again on a show called "The State" on MTV many years ago. They can't possibly be referring to that obscure show. What am I missing?

Man, totally forgot about C64. I used to love Pirates. And the old EPYX olympic-style games.
I can't even remember the first baseball game to keep track of stats - maybe one of the RBI's for Nintendo, or was it Baseball Stars? - but that was a revelation.
More recently, gotta go with GTA3. Still the best, though GTA4 is incredible. And I still play a ton of FIFA.
#LetsGoSwitzerlandThe Man Who Does Not Read Has No Advantage Over the Man Who Cannot Read. The biggest obstacle to progress is a habit of “buying what we want and begging for what we need.”You get the Freedom you fight for and get the Oppression you deserve.
I have a table top Pac Man in my living room. I have had it 10 years. Works pretty well but has some graphics issues when it overheats; makes me love it more! Though far from the first it is THE game that created the video game explosion. Many other great games but Pac Man has to be #1.

Not an PRG fan, but this game is amazing.
