Cameos or not.........need some help!

Hi all. Just picked up a 62 Proof set and was wondering about a couple of the coins qualifiying as cameo or not. Sorry the photos aren't the greatest, I need to get a copy stand and figure out the whole lighting thing. Anyhow, input is welcome and needed thanks!

The obverse of the cent is definately not cameo. I think the nickel may qualify, tho i'll defer to Keets, he knows these things far better than I could ever imagine to!

My guess: No and yes (CAM), respectively.

Cent no, Nickel medium. Probably won't slab as such and definitely not worth slabbing.
  • cent, no. nickel, close but no.

  • What is the criteria in order to make the designation? Does it have more to do with the frosty devices or the depth of the mirrors and the reflection? I know it needs the frost. And it would appear that the deeper the mirrors, the more contrast created ??? I'm still a newbie in a lot of respects. Always trying to learn something new. Thanks again.

Neither show enough contrast for a CAM designation, IMHO.

I agree - both do not seem to have enough contrast to make cameo at PCGS.
Even if they did, it is not likely that they would merit spending the grading fees.
