Two methods for cracking out coins (humor & real)

Hi,

The first method is by far the easiest for sure but, there seems to be at least the slightest of chances of damaging the coins. image

The second video seems just a wee bit more plausible but, can anyone tell me what kind of wheel he’s using on the Dremel?

On the better method, it looks like he is fingering the coin to get it out, after taking the slab apart.

  • Yes but it method 2, the bit seem to be a yo-yo like tip with a blade in the center, thus holding the coin in place, making sure it doesn't slip, cutting right down the middle of the seem, and not damaging the coin... anyone know what kind of cutting tip that is?

    Channel Locks

One snip to get the coin out, and one snip to get the label out.

    Works perfect every time.

They make a product called CoinCracker. I saw it last year at the summer Baltimore show. It's a dremel like tool that cut the edges off a slab like butter

Channel locks also work well when you get a seller who thinks they are funny and uses superglue to permanently seal a air-tite. This happened to me a while back. I wasnt amused.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
