confusing coin market signs

truism 1-- coin collecting is bigger than its ever been, there are more collectors than ever before truism 2-- unemployment, skyrocketing gas prices and rising cost of nearly everything is hitting the lion's share of collectors in their pocket books, surely making them pause before shelling out money for unnecessary coins truism 3--- but more coins (both u.s and world) are being sought after by overseas buyers than ever before, and they are taking advantage of the weak u.s dollar truism 4-- but unstable world events may well disrupt the coin collecting hobby worldwide.....truism 5-- but due to unstable economies, more people are seeking out precious metals than ever before, and of course gold and silver coins contain precious metals....truism 6-- the coin market can't keep going up indefinitely truism 7-- there IS no ceiling as there are still gads of buyers around with deep pockets and a thirst for rare coins

so it's all very confusing-- all sorts of reasons that the coin market is going to remain healthy for years to come; all sorts of reasons that the coin market is going to tank

It would be confusing if you saw a "Fresh Fish" sign at a coin market.
    "Have a nice day!"

There aren't more collectors than ever before. The number of collectors peaked in 1964.
    All glory is fleeting.
  • I think a lot of it has to do with the rising price of silver and gold, many are speculating that the prices will continue to rise, mostly due to a lot of what you mentioned, so silver, gold, old coins all see very attractive now.

Along with placing your money into a collectable that has been a popular collectable since 500BC.
