I have a full uncirc set... and all proofs... extras in slabs and mint issued sets. A few extra Accented Hair pieces. I have just taken the opportunity to assemble the entire set while they are still relatively cheap.... down the road, I do think, these will increase in value. Right now, the prize, top deep cameos command top dollar. As collectors come back to the hobby (after initially entering work force, sowing wild oats, earning a living, starting a family etc) the series will appeal to them since they knew it from their childhood. Cheers, RickO
My Dansco is almost complete with Uncirculated and Proofs along with later date silver Kennedy's. I am almost done with album. I have grown to appreciate them as a set.
RACC I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!
I've been working on a circ Dansco set. It's kind of a fun thing to do when I don't have any bullets for my core collection. It's fun to go to a show with my upgrade/missing list and work on it or go to the bank and get a few rolls to pick through just to see if maybe I could find a couple. You can have pretty much fun for a $20 bill. Kennedys are pretty fun and the nice thing is that once the book is full, you can go and upgrade the lesser ones till you have something that's pretty good looking.
I have all but the 1979-2007 business strikes in a Dansco. Additionally, I have business strikes, silver coins and proofs from 1964 through 1978 in a Capital holder which protects them better than a Dansco with it's slides. Most of the coins are from mint sets and are MS64/65. The proofs are better and grade from PR67 to PR69DCAM with most being higher grades. Plus, the silver 1998 SP (in SP69) and all the original silver proof sets from 1992.
Halves are the big missing hole in my collection (well, probably the biggest-there are lots, EG I have no Ike dollars and no Franklin halves) I have a handfull, most of them from 64-74. I have one from 1990, 1992, 1993 and I KNOW I have a late 80s one somewhere, but I can't find it. I got it a couple years ago when I wasn't really collecting, so I know I saved it but I don't know where.
I'm shortly going to go to the bank and get a roll and keep the best of each variety for my collection, and spend the duplicates. I plan to keep doing that until I have a complete set.
Only the Susan B Anthony is more dreaded in my collection. But, I'm a Kennedy collector, too I have the 70D in the mint set and for some reason , I just can't bring myself to putting it in the Whitman. It's odd, but I have struggled with tearing that one out of the cellophane. No other coin in a mint package has done this to me regarding filling Whitman folders except the 70 D.

Collect, but not actively. I've got a Dansco that's almost full through 2007, but my true fever lies elsewhere (see sigline)
Exclusively collecting Capped Bust Halves in VF to AU, especially rarity 3 and up. Joe G. Great BST purchases completed with commoncents123, p8nt, blu62vette and Stuart. Great coin swaps completed with rah1959, eyoung429 and Zug. Top-notch consignment experience with Russ.
I voted accumulation. I have a complete roll set, all possible OBW or Mint Wrapped except for 3 dates (in OBW) that I'm still searching for. It's been a real challenge to find some of these dates that are true OBWs. Have most of another roll set tubed and 2 rolls + ea. of '70-D & '87-P&D, a roll of '76 BU Silver, all of the satin MS Kennedys in rolls etc. etc. Have more '64-'69 OBW & tubed rolls than I care to count, and always looking more. Yep, I'm Kennedy poor . . . But someday these things are going to take off & I'll be sitting pretty!
BTW, If anyone has an OBW roll of '77-D, '78-P, or '80-P for sale, please PM me! These are the three I still need to complete the OBW set.
Regards, John
Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set: 1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S. Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I knew it would happen.
I voted accumulation. If I pick up a '64 or a 40% I save it, otherwise no.

<< <i>Kennedys from 1971 forward are excellent to collect. From 1964 to 1970 they're just crap and a waste of money.

Shoot it figures, most of mine are 64-70 and I had thought they were the good ones, oh well my bank will take em.

Don't waste your time or money on any of them!
I noticed that there wasn't an option to vote for: Collect by CONECA die variety numbers.

Yeah, he should add "I'm a major geek" to the list.

Russ,
My twelve year old wants to know what you meant by that?
EDIT TO ADD: I told him that I thought you were calling him a "geek"
