Wife stole my coins!!!!

GeomanGeoman Posts: 2,491 ✭✭✭
Actually, just a teaser to get you to open the thread. What happened was I won 2 coins in the same auction a few weeks ago, paid via Paypal, and received the usual email stating order was shipped. Two weeks later, I still have no coins. So I go to the USPS tracker and see that the package was delivered last Tuesday (June 17th) to my house. I never saw them.

So, luckily, before I contacted the seller, I call me wife and ask her. She states "Oh, yes, there was a package that came for you and I signed for it, but forgot to give it to you." So at least I did receive the package. Only problem now is the wife can't figure out where she placed the package! image

Does anyone else have similar stories to share?

Any monster toner I bring home my wife claims. Then she gets pouty if I try to sell one saying "your selling my coin?"

I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

I get this at least once/month--buyer sends me a note "haven't rec'd". I check the USPS website and it was delivered, perhaps several days ago. I tell him this and recieve back either, "oops, wife signed for it" or "never mind" or just no response. I assume all 3 of these is the same--someone else signed for it and forgot to give it to him.

One more funny story I remember reading here...a user has an abandoned outhouse in the side yard. Several packages went missing..insurance claims...headaches...etc. Next summer out cleaning the side yard and find packages in the outhouse where the postman had put them to keep them out of sight from the road. --Jerry

Obviously the postman uses his own outhouse, so he thinks everybody does.image

Yep. But my wife proceeded to inadvertently drop my package and it managed to slip between a gap between the concrete step and the doorway leading into the house from the garage. I wasn't very understanding. Didn't find for weeks. Ugh!

Not an issue unless your wife shows up with something new and valued about what your coin package was worth.

I actually had my trusting/stupid postman leave a package at the front door and I found my dog chewing on the contents (PCGS 1879-O MS67 Morgan) when I got home. Try filing an insurance claim under those circumstances!

My wife would hide all of my coins if that little trick worked. image

She really wouldn't. She seems to like me for some reason or other.

My wife collects coins with me and I love her dearly, but, when the state quarters came out I thought
what the heck, we have two grandkids and I ought to just keep two of each for them.
Fast forward a couple of years and I've been stashing them in a coffee can in the den. One day I go
to put a couple of the newbies in the can and low and behold it's empty of quarters. Whaaaaaaaat the heck?
Linda, do you know what happened to my quarter collection in the coffee can in the den?? Huh, you were
saving those dumb quarters??? was the response. Uh, yes I sure was, do you know where they went?
"7-11 has them" was her response....gets a coke every morning for 50 cents. Sure was handy to have all
those quarters just sitting in the can.
I think that she was suggesting that if I really was saving them I ought to put them in the safe??????
